I know it's selfish, but I just dread gaining a lot of weight which will probably be hell to get rid of.

I am also terribly insecure and I know I will have to face a period of self loathing if I end up gaining more weight than I should.

It doesn't help that sickness has wreaked havoc with my eating habits, have to nibble on something all the time to keep it at bay.

Anyone else in the same boat?

A goth mummy, how cool :preg:

Well, a lot of my problems stem from the fact I was the fat kid at school, and I suppose I still am in my mind!

i found it hard to control my my weight before pregnancy and pretty much lived off fruit and a main meal for tea.

i was 8st 10 and ive reached 10st now :( but i know i need to eat 3 meals a day and i too snacked alot but not to keep sickness at bay, i sometimes feel dizzy and have found eating a biscuit or something helps me.

Im just about to hit 20 weeks on Monday and im so scared at how big ill be after another 20weeks of eating what a normal person would. Thankfully i havent got any strecth marks and im hoping my daily twice application of bio oil morning and night and bathing in palmers coca oil will help prevent them

xx

Ah, stretchmarks, that's another of my worries. You never know what sort of ticket the gene lottery is going to deal you!

i can guess though, and i reckon most likely as i have a few on my hips from growing in my teens, i can handle them on my hips and thighs but i dont want them on my tummy. Guess i dont really have the choice about it though
xx

I wouldn't worry too much. I gained just under 2 stone when pregnant and now just over 5 weeks later I only have about 5lbs to lose to be at my pre pregnancy weight. As long as you don't pig out and make sure you're still active you will be fine. Swimming is very good during pregnancy. I did it until the very end. xx

I've eat what I've wanted and have now gained 3 stone in total!!!! I'm hoping to drop 1.5 stone with birth and the rest will be my mission in the weeks after the birth.

i was the fat kid in schol, high school and college, i ranged from being anorexic for weeks to trying bulemia. once i lost a stone in 5 days so after that i decided to just love myself the way i was no matter what as the ppl that poked fun at me didnt know me and wouldnt of cared who i was or what i looked like they would still have found fault with me. they were never going to love me so it wasnt worth the stress and effort to please them.

have a word with your mind cos your bloomin fab and should be happy with it x

I'm not terrified exactly, but I am very wary. Due to a medication snafu I have put on 4 stone in the last year and am at my heaviest ever. I am doing everything right though in terms of trying to lose weight and I'm unsure of how I will feel about getting even bigger when I do fall pregnant.

It was including.baby who was 6 lb 15 just be sensible and do whatever exercise you can and whatever happens happens x x c

my mum actually lost weight while carrying me, after i was born she was the lightest she had ever been

Thanks for all the reassurance, girlies, you've helped me so so much!!

I suppose this has all been brought on by this pregnancy bloating. My tummy is flat in the morning, but by evening it gets ginormous and I KNOW I'm not eating for two, but it's still disconcerting looking that bloated.

lol if i push my tum out now i can pass for tri3 i think

Yup, i'm terrified!

I went from 8 stone to 15 after my first child.

Lost 5 stone 3 years ago, and managed to keep it off, not weighed myself since being pregnant again.

Definately not doing the same this time, but i'm not going to restrict myself either

:)

started at 11.4 pre pregnancy but that was about half a stone more than my usualy due to christmas weight :P - now at 12.10 ish and hope to only put on one stone more. I'm not one to avoid naughty food, i think its fine to have the odd chocolate bar or crisps as long as your sensible and eat healthly most of the time. I've also been pretty fat in the past and i'm still not at my maximum weight, I do get a bit scared as it was hard to loose the weight but i'm happy to accept that i'll prob never be a size 10 again :P

If you've lost weight before, you'll defo be a size 10 again, might just be slightly harder after you've given birth - trust me, it can be done!

I remember about 3 years after i'd given birth my "bigger" friend said to me....its time to accept that you'll never get into size 10 clothes again, you're pushing yourself too much. That was one of the final nails in the coffin for me, I thought, if other people do it, i'm bloody well doing it. there's no reason why I cant, and I did.

:)
