Anyone a stay at home Mum? Pressures on OH?

I feel that no job is more important than being at home for my children. Its pretty hard work too. If I'm still in my PJs at noon its because with a toddler and a newborn to look after I didnt have 10 seconds in the morning free to get changed, lol.

I want to be a SAHM. My DH said he wants me to as well but its probably not the best idea. His wage would cover all the bills and food etc but we would not get to do anything other than live.

I have squished all my hours in to 2 days so MIL can have LO while I go to work. DH is going to take him to her house on his way to work and then pick him up on his way home. It should work well.

What is concerning me is being expected to pick up shifts and covering sick members of staff with no notice. I used to work 3 days a week and be on standby to cover a shift on my days off. This isn't going to work now because MIL has dropped 2 days at work to have LO. She isn't going to be available all the time.

I have said to DH, if I get put on or too stressed with it all I will look for something with less responsibility and explain to the new employer that I can only do my set shifts until LO goes to school.

I am counting the days I have left at home and it makes me pretty sad :(
