Hi everyone, I am seeing my midwife tomorrow but I think I am roughly 4/5 weeks pregnant- trouble is I am getting horrendous trapped wind and sicky feelings/feeling faint already. Does anyone have any tips or tricks? im feeling horrid :wall2:

sorry to hear that hun. i'm 4-5 weeks too and have had lots of wind! i know when you are not preggers you can take windeze from boots but not sure if you can take it when preggers, ask your midwife tomorrow xx

Yeah im def going to ask the midwife, have you seen your midwife yet?

I am 4 weeks, and can also vouch for the wind. As for sickness, eating as soon as you wake up makes you feel a bit better - well for some people anyway ;-) x

Ive been having branflakes every morning althought the though of milk first thing is a killer lol. This wind seems to last all day, I have bought some benefibre that you mix with drinks to aid digestion I will check with the midwife before taking any though, I hope i can and that it helps.

Yes, the wind - just lovely isnt it!

The nausea is not funny though, it goes on all day. Not being sick just burping, heartburn, stomach turning at smells, all day and all night nausea!

The stabbing pains in lower tummy, really scary! But apparently normal....... thats all so far

Oh, except I swear my left breast is bigger and sagging! Not happy!

Well the sickness hit my yesterday so far, ive been sick after every meal :( Im feeling really down, especially as the midwife phoned me and hasnt contacted me since she didnt even ask me the normal questions like do i smoke or drink (which i dont) really dissapointed and feeling sad

Sorry to hear you're feeling horrid :-(
Could you try travel sickness bands? A few of the girls have tried these. I've been a little nauseous today but nothing really bad.
Why don't you give your midwife a call if she's not phoned you? I know it shouldn't be that way, it sounds like some of them need a bit of a kick in the bum xx

Thanks Princess im sending hubby down to boots now to get me some, i will try anything i feel so crappy. Im going to ring midwife on Tuesday after the bank holidays and ask her for help as its my first baby and I dont have a clue. :)

That's good, it's mw's job to look after you, although a lot of them seem to be really busy.

Something that I found helped me the last time was ginger jelly sweets. I think anything ginger is supposed to be good for sickness. Maybe ask o/h to fetch some at the same time :) x

I've been wearing bands from about 5 weeks they def take the edge off but you need to leave them on day and night, might not stop you being sick though. I always feel worse when I take them off. Try eating smaller meals or little and often, 3 meals a day has been out of the window for weeks now, I just snack. I always feel worse if I eat a proper meal so don't I bother anymore! Also go for non offensive plain food and Ginger tea can help a bit. Hope it passes soon, as for the wind not sure that gets any better as your system slows down when your pregnant, I avoid windy foods!

I have also not eaten a full meal for about a week, just eating bits of fruit and managed a sandwich earlier which has stayed down FX so far. Last week i just felt sick but this week im actually being sick. Will give the bands a go, Ginger is not a favourite of mine to say the least but if all else fails its what everyone has recommended so i shall be cracking open the biscuits/tea or sweets.

I do like ginger biscuits but didn't really like the taste of the sweets. However, they soon became my friends when the took the edge off the sickness  x

Oh you poor thing.
So far I've been fine this time around - got my morning sickness in the evening though with No#1 son - which wasn't too bad, as least I was at home by the time I began to feel crappy!
I found sipping ginger ale helped - it had to be really cold and yep, it made me burp and toot but it certainly took the edge of the sicky feeling... oh and toast - but it had to be hot and just golden and freshly buttered.

Hope you feel better soon.

Well ive been wearing the bands since last night and i was sick again this morning and feel terrible again, plus they are so tight they are literally cutting into my skin and i have skinny wrists! Might try the ginger biscuit again :(

The sickness bands didnt work for me, i felt like they were cutting off my circulation and was still being really sick while wearing them. Sucking on ice worked for me, maybe try that hunny. Hope your feeling better soon x x
