Hi all,

I want to 'return to work' at the very end of the summer term so that I get full pay for the summer hols. Does anybody know how many days I have to go into work for to get full pay back? I've had mixed messages, with some people saying i dont have to go in at all, just give written notice of the date and others saying i have to do at least 5 days.

Can anyone clear this up? I will phone HR on Monday to check but was hoping somebody might know sooner

Thanks xx

I don't know the official answer but I'm planning on doing the same. I'm going back for two weeks before the start of the six weeks, I just think it works both ways and I don't want to take the Mick! The school have been really good to me. I'd be interested to know though, when you find out please will you post it.

You are much more thoughtful than me! I will let you know on Monday after I've phoned xx

I was thinking of doing this, but want longer off. I think you have to go back for one day. X

I'm planning on going back in July at some point possibly for a week or so, not too sure if you have to do a day as i know some people who did that last year.

xxx

Update: I spoke to both payroll and HR today and it was confirmed that so long as I provide written confirmation 21 days before, I don't have to physically return to work to start my pay again. Apparently it is my right to return to work and re-establish full pay at any point, and I can't be penalised for working term tine. There was also sine complex bit about how teachers accrue holiday pay too which backs up what I was advised xx

I'm planning on doing the same too but just going back at the start of the Easter holidays. I'm so fed up though I'm contemplating leaving a bit earlier and having a week or two back before the Easter holidays. At least that would mean not long back before the holidays!

I read up about the holiday accrued bit but it seemed that I will get enough holiday for it not to apply. I can't rememebr the rules but I rememebr thinking that it would be hard to time it so that you did get anything extra!
