Hi guys, is there any ladies on here with an ovarian cyst or ever had one. I've got a 5cm on on right ovary which I've been told they might just leave alone and monitor it due to my age (28) also said it shouldn't effect my fertility and give me problems if got pregnant ( good news) just wondered if anyone has gone through something similar and they have left it and had healthy pregnancy?

Thanks

Btw been off pill 12 months and still no luck

I had a 8cm one, which they removed and also had to remove tube and reconstruct 1 ovary.... I fell pregnant after 27 months of trying. Good luck xx

Hello lovely

To cut a long story short, a few weeks ago now I was having a dull ache on my right hand side, the doctors thought it was a grumbling appendix so sent me for an ultrasound. The radiographer couldn't locate my appendix so referred me for a MRI which I had last Monday.

Anyway today I called my GP to see if my MRI results were in and she said that the doctor has requested to see me.. Apparently lower bowel area looked `normal' but she mentioned possible ovarian cyst..

I have very regular periods, pain has totally gone so I'm dreading tomorrow's appointment..

Do you suffer with any pain? & how did they find it?

We're currently under our local gynae department for fertility delays with regards to sperm so really praying this isn't something else that'll delay us..

Hiya! Well I had a dull ache in my lower right hand side also. Went to docs, urine, bloods and swabs all come back fine. Sent me for an ultrasound where they found a cyst on my ovary. Week later had more bloods done to test it wasn't anything nasty which came back fine. Just had appointment today with gynaecologist who did internal examination and felt my stomach. Basically said it's common and nothing to worry about. They will just leave it alone and no need to remove it. He said it will not effect me getting pregnant which is a relief. It is taking ages though ha ha .the dull ache seems to have died down now.

Aw really glad you got sorted :)
I went to the doctors this morning and he told me it looks as though I have PCOS :( but I don't have any of the usual symptoms that come along with them so hopefully i'll be ok..

Wont find out until we see out fertility consultant in January..

Keeping fingers crossed we both get our BFP soon :)
xx

Is there any difference between pcos and an ovarian cyst or they just the same? They said my left ovary was all clear

I have a septated cyst it's about 4cm too. It got picked up during my scans but I'm really sure that I've had it for years (had aches on that side before) I'm 31

I've been referred to a consultant as mine hadn't gone (apparently they often do on their own) and have a scan booked for 35 weeks. If it's still there they will remove it after the baby is born. I was warned that though unlikely that there was a possibility of it twisting my ovary and if that happened I would have to have emergency surgery to have it removed. I'm not worried though.

I think they're being more cautious because my cyst is complex. It hasn't really bothered me though.

Well it's reassuring that you can still get pregnant while having a cyst. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy :)
