Well as most of you know I've had a difficult two weeks. Well it's not gotten much easier. Just had a scan and baby is 2 weeks smaller than she should e so is only 2 lb 12 at the moment. I've also been told I have a slow leak in my waters from around the baby. Has anyone experienced this ? I am waiting to see the doctor ad am thinking all sorts. I don't wantto have to have the baby now because she's too small and I'm worried she will be poorly :( If I do have to hav her now isn't 2 lb 12 way too small ? I'm so upset. :(

For one babe they say she's only 2lb 12 but they can't 100% tell, all u need to do is just try n stay calm she's still in there getting bigger every day, n u r being monitored close enough now fir then to only ever do the best for u n baby x x xchin up

Hun at least you are in the best place and you will have to take the doctors advice but there are definitely smaller babies who get on just fine after a period in special care - some are just 1lb plus a few ozs. Try and stay positive for your little one xx

I don't have any advice, but someone I know had her baby at under 2.5lbs and he was ok, so 2lb 12oz is small but not too small if anything needs to happen. What are they saying? Are they keeping you in hospital and monitoring things?

I'm sorry I don't know what to advise you but wishing you all the best and hope everything turns out okay. 2lbs 12 is small but babies have been born smaller and been just fine. you are in the best place. how is your blood pressure and everything now? Did they say you might have to give birth very soon or Can you hold off for longer?

Blood pressure is stable due to the drugs. Just had an internal and am waiting on the results. Waiting for my bf to come in so I can have a big cuddle and a cry :( my poor princess. Why can't I give her everything she needs. :(

aw hun shes got a fab mummy waiting to look after her no matter if shes born early or full term. I hope all goes well today i will be watchin your tread for updates xxxxxxxxx

You are giving her everything she needs & don't you dare think like that again! You have been so brave and strong the last couple of weeks which is what she needs. she is still there moving about fine and dandy probably not realising what all the fuss is about! Just carry on with what you have been doing and staying calm :) You will feel a bitty better once your other half gets there and you have a good cry.

Sometimes it is safer to get baby out sooner rather than later, I now wish Ethan had been delivered even the week before as I think he would of had a better chance. He was 30 weeks and normally a baby at this gestation has a wonderful chance. He had contracted a virus from me so there was nothing they could do. If your little girl is healthy otherwise she has a wonderful chance. Ethan was a big lad so weight doesn't always play that much of a factor unless the are really tiny. 2lb 12oz is small but manageable, she had a great chance. If they thought the worst believe me they would tell you xxx

Oh honey:hugs:

I can only echo what the others have said.

xxx

fraid i can't offer much advice :/ but maybe a bit of reassurance... a friend of mine had her little girl not too long ago and she only weighed 2Ilb 5oz but was really quite healthy considering... she didnt need any help breathing and will be allowed home in the next 3/4 weeks :) (she was born at 29+6) xx

I was going to write what Jodied has written - and everyone has said what I'd have said really. but at the moment it definitely doesn't sound as bad as it could be, just hang in there, have that cry, and let them look after you and littlun - and here's to hoping baby is ok and doesn't come out til closer to 40 weeks!

:hugs:

I can't add much more to what the girls have already said. But don't you dare think you're not giving her everything, you are!!!! You are doing all that you can do, sometimes things are out of our control :( And it sucks. But I agree you arei n the best place and doing the best that you can!!!! Hope you're BF gave you a big cuddle because you deserve one!!!!

x xxx

oh honey you have done nothing but look after her. that you are doing naturally. please dont ever think that any of it is anything that you have done.
you have done so well. i dont know if i could ever cope the way you have.

stay strong for your little girl and im sure all will be fine. a friend of mine had her lo very early and was only 1lb ish when born. that was a couple of months ago and he is still only 3lb something now but going strong.

try not to worry too much. all here for you honey. xxx

Oh Hun, so sorry for you; if you were to give birth I am sure baby might have a good survival chance, these days babies survive all sorts of trauma and can survive from 26 weeks outside the womb with the right care. I wish I could offer a better word, but all I can say is that my thoughts are with you and I hope it all turns out well in the end xxxx

Just wanna send my love and to say like the others already have u are doing a great job looking after your little girl and don't ever think otherwise. Hugss xxxx

Awww Jodie, I'm so sorry you're really going through it but you have got through the last 2 weeks like a real trooper and you're little girl is hanging on in there just fine. Try to think positive, you are in the best place and the doctors won't do anything to jeopardise the little ones health x

Hey hun I was born at 28 weeks and was solo tiny! But I'm here, and that was with the help of docs 28 years ago! I'm sure u and ur little one will be fine don't worry xxx
