Hey ladies just a quick qu i was thinking of investing in one of these from e-bay but when can you start using them from? :)

Do you mean Angelsounds?

Dopplers vary depending on the person using them. Some find a heartbeat earlier, others not till much later on. I didn't try before 14 weeks personally.

If you get one now and try it chances are you won't find anything so don't panic. My MW never tried with a doppler before 16 weeks as she said it was not certain to hear anything. Only causes more stress.

But many people do pick up a heartbeat sooner. Just remember not to fret if you can't find anything this early.

I bought this one which arrived earlier this week and found the heartbeat loud and clear right away! :cheer: Says on the box you should be able to find it from 12 weeks and possibly earlier.

Had previously bought this one which I thought was the newer model of above, but it doesn't need gel and amplifies every noise in the room and outside rather than babies heartbeat. Instructions say it's likely to be 3rd trimester before you hear anything, even though their listing states you could hear at 10 weeks :fib:

Hope this helps,

Sarah x

Thanks ladies :D Peanut it was the 2nd one i was looking at actualy but now reading what youve said il get the 1st one :)

Yeh, the 2nd ones a 'Fetal Listener' rather than a doppler, i got the first one but cant use it yet....

I got mine at about 10 weeks but I didn't find the heartbeat until nearly 14 weeks.

I've heard women on here who've found the heartbeat as early as 9 weeks but others who've not heard anything at 20 weeks still.

A MW won't usually try anything before 16 weeks though as they say it's too early.

when I found mine I realised I was looking way too high. I was searching around my tummy just below my belly button and to the left and right!!! Turns out when I did find it I found it right down low just above my pubic bone and smack in the centre. I find it there every time now.

Apparently the easiest way to find it is to start at the bottom and slowly work upwards. Don't worry if you don't hear it though because even when I've found mine sometimes it fades in and out as the baby moves around and if it moves away from the doppler completely you can't hear anything at all.

I have it.

Found heartbeat at 12 weeks (I think). Use very low down below knicker line when using it this early and you MIGHT be lucky.

Also found that it needs decent batteries as I used the tesco value ones and they are rubbish and it's really quiet now.

Using the 2 headphones is great as DH can hear also.

I now just rest it on my belly and baby kicks it and can see it wobble

I have the angelsounds one and found babies heartbeat 2 days ago.. Its so amazing.. mine sounds like a train.
