didn't need to test today as AF has arrived, as each month passes me by I am understanding more about my body, the hormones that keep it running and recognising the changes that come with it, I am worrying a little that time is running out for me though, does anybody know the name of the hormone that triggers Af? and why does it make you feel so despondent? is there any need for this part of it? I know that in a couple of days Ill be back to my normal self, peeing on sticks and getting my hopes up, this month I have decided to avoid white carbs this month (after reading a post relating it to pcos, I was told a few years back that I possibly have this but doctors were unwilling to investigate further as I had already had my son and in Drs own words "as your not a particularly hairy lady I wouldnt worry about it" unhelpful but I accepted it, I am beginning to wonder if things have developed since then though and my monthly cycle isnt actually what Im thinking it is, maybe im getting paranoid due the the afore mentioned hormones, ok Im boring myself now so will get out of here for a bit I think,
hope everyone is ok tonight

peace and love from Polly xx

Good on your for trying to make some positive changes :) It certainly can't hurt!

It's the sudden drop in progesterone that causes AF.

When an egg is released, the remains of the follicle it came out of causes progesterone levels to rise for several days.

After that time, the progesterone levels fall increasing more until they flatline and AF occurs.

Estrogen is the hormone that makes us feel good, and during the luteal phase it unfortunately drops with the progesterone... so it's not that a hormone makes us feel bad, but there isn't any hormones making us feel good :(

Rest assured that with each passing day for the next couple of weeks you are just going to feel better and better ;)

Sorry she got you. She got me too, and I am very impressed by your postive attitude so trying to look forward to the next cycle once the nasty AF has gone.

Sorry she got you hun :shakehead:.. Doctors can be so mean some times! Have you got a family planning center near you? I went there and they sent me for an ultrasound but it took 8 months to get an appointment and had already fell pregnant by then.. x

I hadn't thought about going to the family planning, I've always thought about them just being for preventing xx
