Am I reciving the correct treatment?

From reading other threads it seems that lots of you have had urine and blood tests already.

I saw my midwife last week where she spent about an hour filling in my maternity notes, taking NOK details etc.

She didn't ask for a urine sample at all and she said I wouldn't have any blood taken until I have my 1st Trimester Screening at 12 weeks.

Do you think this sounds right?

She was a lovely midwife but I have to admit I feel a bit 'left'.

Maybe its the way they do things here in Dorset?

I am very anxious about EVERYTHING anyway and this doesn't help!

As far as I am aware the booking bloods should be taken between 8 and 12 weeks (I had mine today), so if you have them more or less straight away after your dating scan at 12 weeks that should still be ok. My first urine test was also today together with the blood test, so probably you will have the 2 together, too. From then on it should be checked at every appointment.

I know - we are practically sisters-in-belly! Will be interesting to see what our scan say, maybe they'll make us due on exactly the same day in the end!

I didn't even see midwife until nearly 13 weeks, she did take bloods and urine and do all the booking in stuff though. I'll be 24 weeks when I get my second appointment so it all just depends where you live and how they do things.

I had all of my bloods taken at my 8 week booking in appointment i didnt do a urine sample until my 16 week appointment though

prob just done differently in different areas hun xx

I just feel worried that I'm gonna miss out on something really important.
I don't wanna be one of those women who is always nagging her midwife but tbh if its gonna put my mind at rest then I'm gonna be a midwife stalker!!

As the others said everywhere is different I had mine at 9 weeks, but that is here!

Everywhere seems to be different!I seem to be seeing my mw loads! I saw the her at 8 weeks for booking in saw her again today for bloods and urine tests then I see her again at 16 weeks. If your concerned I would give your mw a call. x

Everywhere is diff hin. I had my bloods taken at 7 weeks at my booking in apt... was told they had to be done before 13wks + 1.
She also tested my urine for protein etc.
Had my scan yesterday an they did bloods as well which is used to determine ur risk of downs syndrome, among other things.
I have my next midwife apt at 16 weeks.
I wouldnt panic but if its on ur mind maybe give her a call and ask her to talk u thru the process in ur area

Looks like every area does something different! Had my booking appt on Saturday at home. She did the protein pee test here and gave me a load of envelopes for blood tests and one for urine test which I have to take to hospital myself when I have time this week.
