I'm baffled girls!

Lo takes a bottle of my expressed milk no problem, she winds no problem to but then when it comes to her next feed off me, she feeds, burps and is then sick! Alot :(

Yesterday she slept 3 1/2 hours after a bottle, I fed her bathed her then finished feeding and up it comes???

It's happened about 6 times in past weeks and the only pattern is that it's always in days she's had a bottle......

Going back to work at Xmas so got to tackle this :( xx

Is she taking too much from the bottle?
Trapped wind? Maybe try gripe water before her bottle?
Sorry not much help but just some suggestions x

I'm using infacol for wind, I make sure I wind her on every ounce when taking a bottle, I didn't think it would be wind because she slept for so long and fed off me and if she has wind she wouldn't of slept so long for one and she wouldn't of eaten and had a bath all with a windy belly I didn't think???? X

Doesn't sound like wind then! Am I right she's being sick after being on the breast? Could be that now your expressing your producing to much milk her little tummy can't cope with it. Have you tried expressing some milk first then let her feed off of you?

Do you express when you feed her a bottle?

If not your boobies will be very very full if you replace a feed with expressed milk and she is probably taking a bit too much per feed and vomiting up the excess.

Don't worry about the sick, it's usually more of an inconvenience than anything else if she's gaining weight properly etc.

Yea I only express when she has a bottle and then once in the night to stock up, I use shields which slows my milk, on the days I don't give a bottle yet still express she is fine??? There was probably 6 hours in between the bottle and her being sick which says to me it's not the bottle but then when I think of the times she is sick its only ever been on days she has a bottle! She's never sick not even a little when I feed her x

It is probably air taken in through sucking the teat then.

We used to get a lot of sick when I fed her with a bottle and it was because age was gulping in air.

I wouldn't worry too much about it if its only once a day or every now and then. A bit of sick wont harm her sweetheart x

Was just thinking if there are other options to a bottle??? Will post a thread but just a thought.....x

Maybe the teat is too slow at least that's what I've found

Yeah, it's just slower and you need to help. You can cup feed from birth. Make sure they're sitting up and just tip a little then let them drink. We've always used a tommee tippee but doidy cups are
Meant to be good and closer to bf xx

I fed my newborn with a cup. It looks really strange but he licked and lapped it up!!! xx
