All going ahead for IVF! yayyy

No I am going to SEFC in Tunbridge Wells, are you from Kent?

ahhh no , I'm going to Oxford , but i'm from Berkshire so traveling only takes just over an hour on a straight , no traffic run. How close is yours to you timewise ? I guess we will both do the journeys plenty of times when weve finished

Driving it will take about 45minutes, so not to bad.

How are you feeling about injecting yourself? Will you do it yourself or get your husband to do it, Are you ok with needles??

Supper excited for you jenni have you told the older kids that your trying for another or you going to wait and see how it goes. Xxxx

Thanks ladies,

Wow Little Angel - you got your IVF bfp!!! congratulations, I'm sooo pleased for you, I wonder if you have twins in there as you had two Blastos popped back , have your clinic scanned you yet?
Thanks :)

No, I've been scanned twice now and it's just the one.

I'm from Hampshire and I've heard really good things about Oxford xxx

45 mins is not too bad Vicky, I guess you will know the route off by heart soon!! As for injecting, well it's all a bit distant in my head yet, so havn't thought much about it yet, I guess I will do it, my OH would prob be rubbish... just concerned about getting the mixing up etc done correctly, and getting all the correct stuff, so well get over that one first, and then sure it will all fall into place. Had quite a few needles, etc with having had c-sections/ops in the past , so hope to be ok, but you just don't know till that first one I guess! (the oxford nurse, did say holding a bag of frozen veg on the tum for a few seconds , then injecting helps), I lke the sound of that one..

What are you going to do , have you thought much about the injections yet?

Great news on your scans, mine give you two if your lucky enougth to fall preg - bet you were over the moon to see baby on the screen! , It's sooo clever isn't it!

Are you going to have baby at Basingstoke hosp? I had my first two there, it was lovely, not sure what it's like now , that was in 99 and 2001. It was a smaller hosp so the after birth care was far better than busy Reading.

Well done on reaching 12 weeks safely - yayyyy how exciting

My clinic only scan once if there are no problems. My 12 week scan came through for 13.5 weeks, apparently they didn't have anything earlier. My husband will be on a business trip then, so we treated ourselves to a private scan at 10w. It's so lovely to see a baby on screen, rather than the dot you see at 6.5w.

I've opted for Basingstoke out of the two that would be reasonable where I live. I'm thinking about having the baby at home though. We will have to see if my pregnancy is straightforward.

Hi JJ, I just wanted to pop on and wish you all the luck in the world. So pleased things are moving forward for you and not long to wait either.

Good luck hun

Little Angel - it would be lovely to have a home birth, fingers crossed you carry on straighforward and low risk so you can go for it.

Sassysuger - thanks lots, yeah it is moving fast, it's my doing , and my cycle has obliged fitting in with tests at the right cycleday, the clinic are not over busy and i'm paying seem to make it a bit quicker. Ideally id like a smaller age gap than longer if were sucessful and Devon is already 16 mths today. as the plan is for him to have a growing up mate, plus I will be 39 in july! so clock ticking.

Wow your baby is 7 mths already !! where did that time go... Are you still loving being a mummy?

Will be keeping up with your journey. Will be nice for Devon to have a little brother so sister. We are looking to ttc in the new year, if all goes to plan, so roughly the same age as Devon is now.

The past few months have flown over, love being a mummy, can't wait for him to sleep through though, but I'm sure it will happen soon.

Oh brilliant news, 2 years plus is a nice age gap:lol: So hes a pickle at night is he! Hopefully he will settle into a better pattern soon, are you blw or traditional weaning? maybee once he gets more food inside him it will fall into place:dance:

oo wow!!!!
its happening so quick hun!! :D
xx

JJmum just read through, great news it's moving forward for you. I too am from Berkshire and when I decide to go ahead with IVF it will be with Oxford, so it was also nice to hear how good they have been with you

Always trying. oh how spooky is that.... I'm used to nhs hosps myself, Oxford do private or nhs referals , and I've been amazed at how profesional, caring and effichant they have been already.. It's actually like a very posh 2 storey office building in an business park, with a little lake in front of it. The nurses are lovely and they don't seem to be worried about taking lots of time over you. I must admit, ivf is expensive , so I have to remember I am paying through the nose for this , but even so , I can't fault them so far. I had to leave a message twice, and was disapointed as i then thought I would be waiting beyond the day to get things sorted. How wrong was I, they rang me back within 30 mins, both times...

My sister does not know i'm having ivf, if I was lucky enougth to have this work for me, then a baby would be concieved in the same place as my sisters 2nd child, which would be lovely and fitting.

I will look forward to being able to help you somewhat , buy my ttc journal of my ivf , as the practices etc should be simular when you start, I don't know what i'm doing yet, but just ask anytime you want any info from me... JJ
