Firstly thank u to Lucy for being my text buddy and for keeping u all informed x

Due on the 29th Nov, on the 3rd Dec after my 2nd sweep at 2 in the afternoon my hind waters broke at 2230, at first I thought it was just my bloody show as it was dark brown slimy discharge and also some pinky discharge but when I went to the toilet there was a lot of fresh red blood and it discoloured the water. I decided to call the labour ward to seek their advice and as the red blood was continuing I was told to come in and be checked.

I arrived just before 11 and ws advised to show my pad and replace with another so it could be monitored I then had an internal and it was confirmed some of my waters had gone and I w then admitted. Due to the continued bleeding rather than send me home to come back 24 hrs later to be induced they decided to start thngs off with a pessary and repeat 6 hours later.
Needless to say the pessaries did nothing and i only had some minor contractions that i could breath thro.

At 3pm the following afternoon I was moved to the delivery suite to have the hormone drip where the dosage would slowly increase to get my contractions going and bring on labour which meant for me no water birth and Very limited mobility :-( the drip however worked it brought on conmtractions so I was using gas and air but was only 2cm dilated at around 10pm I was getting weary and the contractions were much stronger and i was in ters as i just didnt seem to beprogressing so i was given diamorphine which helped with the backache along with the gas and air.

At around 3am babys heart rate started to drop and if I hadnt got to 5cm i would have to have c section. After DR examined me it was decided things werent happening and a c section would be the safest option as baby's heartbeat was dropping from 140 to 60 and everyone was getting very worried, they had to take a sample from his head to check oxygen levels.

I went for c section at 5.05am and Alex finally made his appearnce at 0607am and there was a lot of emotion from mummy and daddy on the sunday, I only just found out that during the section my blood pressure went really low and they had to do something to get it back up, poor old hubby was so worried and I was none the wiser. The staff were fantastic and i cannot commend them high enough. Lex is wonderful and so worth the wait and he has took to breastfeeding mediatel. I am so tired as i uat cant get sleep inbetween feeds at the moment but am likely to be in til wedsday.

I cant wait to go home as huby has been so fantastic spending time together as a family will be fantastic, l will update when out of hosital but facebook buddies there is no w a pic on tjere if yone can copy and add on hereforme I would be grateful x x
