What's everyone's opinions on it? Does it really ruin each month of ttc?
My oh rarely drinks but I do love a bottle of red wine one night on a weekend. Does this seem excessive? I just hate the thought of not being able to enjoy a glass (or two lol) of wine on a weekend, it just makes it seem so strict and depressing.
I never drink over this amount in a week but along with it always lingers the thoughts of maybe it's affecting my ttc journey. Can't win lol.

Hiya what ive read recommends that if you think you have conceived then best not to drink. I guess that could mean at implantation though so whilst ttc you might be ok to havd a wee glass!

I've just finished af so definitely not an issue for me lol. I don't usually have a glass on a weekend during the tww unless it's one where we haven't actually tried. I just always feel there's so many do's and donts and everything under the sun can supposedly hinder ttc lol.

I drank whilst ttc or should I say I didn't not drink! Made no difference - I think they key is not drinking excessively x

I usually drink (though I'm not a massive drinker generally) until any whiff of a BFP. As Ttc says I think if you're not drinking in the excess it's fine but that's personal choice. NHS recommends cutting it out altogether but this is unrealistic I think?! Maybe just cut down a little bit post ov if you're worried? x

It's hard to really know what's considered "excessive" when relating to ttc. I never really thought of a bottle of wine once a week being anything major but you read so many negative articles relating to alcohol, caffeine, etc. From my knowledge so far and after me having all my relevant checks it's oh that could be the factor in our difficulty ttc no2 (we found out his count wasn't great and he had borderline abnormal morphology) so I guess I shouldn't beat myself up too much.
I'm 1 of 7 kids in my family lol and I know my mum loved her wine before any of her pregnancies lol

We are :bd: tonight as have my flashing smiley! I will also be enjoying a glass of red afterwards! Nice to have a treat.....after a treat! Ha ha! X

Yeah I mean I consider excessive as getting absolutely smashed on a regular basis, not a bottle of wine on a weekend.

It's not recommended by medical folk. Unless you are having problems getting pregnant it's probably ok. If you do have difficulty it's probably worth stopping it. I'm alcohol free as I don't feel I have a lot of time left.

I limit myself to a small glass but after dtd over peak period I stop drinking, just in case! I always then have a large glass the day my af arrives as a way of cheering myself up. Have bought a bottle in especially as not feeling very optimistic this month! Not sure why! X

Thats really helpful.there are so many different perspectives but this article makes it quite clear. thanks sunflower x

I would have the odd glass of wine,I'd like to think it doesn't do any harm though when ttc. My AF arrived this week & like you Melly I had a bottle last night to cheer myself up.

Sorry to hear that L&P. Lets hope its our month next time x
