advice please.

Hello everyone.

I am just after some advice please and probably just to let you know how I am thinking as its not the easiest of things to bring up. I usually have very irregular periods and if anything have a cycle that is less than 28 days but was last on the pill in March. My last period began on 23rd May and I haven't had another since. For over a week now I have been feeling as though my period is going to start and it hasn't, my breasts have also been sore and i have been quite tired but I do work long hrs so that could be the reason why. I have also been opening my bowels more often and having the odd hot flush and feeling bloated and always hungry. I have been worried about doing a test as i know I will be upset if not positive and if it is positive i will probably be scared stiff. My hubby thinks I should test as 6 weeks is a long time and i just wanted to know if leaving it another week would make a difference? will the tests always test positive if you are preggers at any time of pregnancy or should you test as soon as you have a suspicion?

From what the girls have been telling me here I think you can test any time of the day but morning urine is better, some tests are more sensitve and you should get a result the day you miss your period or even before if it is first response or clear blue.
I'm not an expert but I was pregnant earlier this year and the symptoms sound good, although I am learning in this forum that your body plays tricks on you when you want something badly...
I have heard tesco tests are really good, they picked up my pregnancy before my period, a good few days....

It is best to test first thing in the morning as the pregnancy hormone in your urine is usually at it's stongest or most concentrated as it has been building up in your urine while you have been asleep and not weeing!!

I have always used first response from the day period has been due and it has always been accurate for me.

Personally I would do a test but I think I am one of the most impatient people in the world!!

hi all

thanks for the advice. not so much worried about what test to use as I am about what the result might be silly I know but I really am quite anxious. I have had some tummy cramps again last night and also this morning and I just wander wheter my period will now show. I think we have decided to leave it until the weekend before I test, no particular reason really, just soooooooooo nervous. Am I being Silly??? think I might be though as I have said before I will be upset if it is negative and scared stif but excited if it is positive!!!!!!! what am i like, is ther anyone else in the same postition as me?!! xx
