Advice please - chasing overdue accounts

Hi

I was wondering if you could advise. One of my husbands clients owes him money dating back to October and it is nearly £4000. We have chased and chased and we sent a letter last week saying that if they do not settle the account in 7 days we will be taking court proceedings (trying to scare them). The 7 days have now passed, what do we do now?????

ive no idea. does he have a buisness lawyer he can speak to? can you employ a private debt collector to recover the debt?

No he doesnt have a business lawyer.

I didnt quite know what the next step was? Another letter advising court action has been instructed???

id call a solicitor, just anyone and ask for advice, they usually do this for free

Or you can try something like this. Ive done it at my work before and sometimes a letter from a solicitor is all it takes to get people to pay up.

£24 out of £4000 isnt much
