Hello ladies hope you can help!! Jumping over from Tri 2 for some advice!

I've started looking at travel systems and oh my god what a flippin minefield.

Here are my q's!

- I don't want to spend a fortune - what's the best make?
- do I actually need a carry cot? Or is car seat clipped onto chassis enough then move onto buggy?
- what's a good bet for fitting in a small boot? (Peugeot?)

Any advice appreciated. The more I look at them the more stressed
I'm getting :-/ xxxx

Don't stress! But yeh here are a lot of options and to make it worse there's are some prams you can by adapters for so they become travel systems!

We went for a bugaboo buffalo because it's good on all sorts of ground- we've taken it on the beach, bumpy gravel canal paths, woods you name it and it's been great. Quite heavy but I find it find to get in and out of the car and collapse down etc. We bought the adaptors for it for a britax car seat and got the baby safe shr II - great isofix car seat.

Might be worth making a list of things that you'd like- size/weight/features etc and then go into a couple of stores and try out what they have and what you like best xx

Hi Quinn! There are so many it's hard to choose!! I was lucky I found a good one early on in the Venicci Mini. It's not a well known brand which is good coz it was a very reasonable price however I wish I'd gone for the maxi cosi seat instead of the venicci one (adds to the cost though!) but it does the job ok. The wheels come off easily too so would be fine for a small boot.
When babies are so small it's not recommended they spend too long in a car seat so really it depends how much you think you are going to use it but I definitely think it was worth having the carry cot even though Zach outgrew his at 3 1/2 months! We also used it for him to sleep in for a night or 2 when we went away.
Good luck! X

I def recommend a carry cot - it's really not ideal for newborns to spend lots of time in a car seat. We have bought one to replace the lower seat of our Oyster Max as we don't have a compatible car seat and he will be too little for the seat - the lower seat does not lie flat and ds1 will be in the main seat at the front. I have done it this way as it makes me feel more at ease.

We were bought a cheapie Graco and I don't recommed - we couldn't see him, it wasn't height adjustable so neither 5ft me nor 6ft hubby could comfortably push it. I don't recommend the cheapest Graco but I can't speak for the pricier ones.

We bought a second hand Quinny which was fab but the back wheels are very large and it can be a bit awkward in shops. I don't know if there's a carry cot for it but it can be used from birth as it lies flat. New, I would say it's fairly mid-range in price.

We are now using an Oyster Max and, while expensive, it's fab. The only thing I can criticise it for is that the handle isn't height adjustable enough for my tinyness but I would imagine it's not an issue for an average-sized woman.

HTH :)

I have a mama's and papas zoom which is a good pram for the price. Although I got it without the car seat and bought a maxi cosi cabriofix car seat separately. It comes with a carry cot included. I like it because it came with a carry cot included in the price. Personally I wouldn't pay extra for one because ours never got the use. The pushchair part can be used from birth because it lays flat and can be parent or forward facing. It has a nice big basket too.

I also got an out and about nipper double for when I had my second. It's a really good pram too, really light and brilliant to push because of its suspension and air filled tyres. It comes as a single too. I'd really recommend it too, although it's a bit more expensive than the zoom.

Oh I was looking at the zoom! Is the car seat it comes with any good? Xx

No idea I'm afraid! When we're got ours it didn't come with a car seat included. We've got the maxi cosi cabriofix that fits on it with adaptors and it's a good car seat.

We've only used our car seat once and that was coming home from the hospital.

We use our carry cot all the time as he sleeps in it during the day. We have a Concord Neo and its carrycot can be used in the car instead of a car seat which means we can be out all day. The Jane prams also let you do this (same company), they're not the cheapest though so another option would be a car seat and a smaller pram that would fit in your car with the chassis and the bassinet and you could transfer baby x

I've got the mamas and papas sola2 and didn't get a carrycot. I just bought a cosy toes for £20ish which is doing us great. I love our sola and the car seat is good to

We got the silver cross pioneer which has the pram and separate pushchair bit. You can buy the car seat as an optional extra to go onto the pram but we didn't get this. We bought the britax dualfix car seat as you can twist it to save ur back and it lasts till they are four years old so saves money in the long run.

I've got the Silver Cross Wayferer and love it. Nice and light, height adjustable handle bar and the carry cot is approved for overnight sleeping so seems really comfortable for my son. The car seat isn't too heavy and it's easy to fit even when we aren't using the isofix so transferable for others to be able to take LO out.

I've got the uppababy vista 2015. Comes with maxi cosi pebble car seat, carry cot and also seat. Massive shopping basket too, a dream to push!

We have a corsa and fits in our boot ok :)

Get lots of comments when I'm out and about as its not a pram you see in big stores.
We had to get it from
Winstanleys pram world. They do have them in John Lewis if you can look in one of those stores. Xx

Xxcharliexx I saw a post this morning about the uppababy 2015 on Facebook today - hopefully the post is attached!
