Adoption... Is this the right section ?

Am I posting in the right place ?
Let me know if not.
Anyway After my second MC this year, the last being a MMC I found out at 12 weeks.
We've decided to give it a rest for a few years and adopt first.
This last MC has effected me so much I had to take a few weeks off work and I know If I was to go through it again it would finish me off.
Im really not doing okay.
We always said that we would adopt anyway, so moving it forward isn't a problem,
Im waiting for a social worker to get back in contact with us regarding the initial steps.
Who here has adopted? What did you think of the overall experience ? Do you have any hints or tips?

Awh hun I'm sorry your not doing well but glad to see you've made the first steps by contacting social! I can't offer you any advice but just wanted to say I'm pleased your going for it.
In my area they do days where you can go in and ask questions and see what happens etc, maybe you could look for that in your area?
There's a website called fertilityfriends and they have an adoption section with advice and people who are going through the stages and who've already adopted.
Really hope your not waiting long.

I would second the suggestion of looking on fertility friends, loads of info on there.

My husband's cousin has adopted two little girls and they are thrilled with how well they have fitted in with their family and are pleased they adopted.

We started to look into adoption but decided for various reasons it wasn't for us at that stage. We were also having treatment and you have to be a year post treatment here for them to consider you. It does seem to vary in the different areas. I would see if they are having any open days as that is a good way to get started.

Hey sorry ladies, I wrote this then forgot what section I put it in.
Yes they have open days, we've been given a few dates that we are going to attend and ask loads of questions. Were actually now buying a house so Were going to focus on that for the next few months then move forward after that. I don't want to do to much at the same time. I really want to focus my attention on adoption.
