We live in spain and so through the summer hols we are bombarded with visitors..I never had half as many when we lived in Scotland or Nottingham! Anyway...for the rant. My wee Lo has german measles- probably picked it up from one of the house guests- and so I really want him to stay clear of other kids for a week or so. Plus we've had sooooo many folk here for the last month. Anyway sis-in-law and nephew want to come and stay here for their last week in Spain (they are currently at a resort 20mins away) but everytime they come all I do is run around after them- drinks, sandwiches...cleaning up cups and plates and crap left lying around.. I have to listen to my nephew moaning he is bored then he downloads so much shXt on my PC it becomes so slow... I have to constantly tell people to keep the noise down when they are screaming at the pool at 10+ at night (as I have a baby who is strying to sleep), I seem to be looking after LO and everyone else so much I don't see outdoors and I have not be in my pool now for 5 days 'cause nephew was messing round with the cleaning equipment and broke it- now the pool is going green! AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!
I think we should move to Antartica- how many visitors will we get then!

You want to tell them to respect the fact its your home and you have neighbours too consider too, tell them to shut up ir go home. As for the oc problem. Take the plug off and tell the git not too touch it!

We live in Spain as well but we never get any visitors!! I have tried to get my best mate here loads of times but she never has visited. After reading your story i am sort of glad. We went to see her at xmas in the UK and her 10 year old was a pain in the ass. He has behavour problems, although not the worst case, hes still a pain! They then have the 2 year old and she scream the place down as soon as my friend puts her down so she cant have a chat or anything in peace with me, she has to be holding her daughter all the time which drove me mad as she was constantly talking to her daughter while i was trying to have a conversation with my her  I'd tell them your little one has german measles and its highly contagious. Plus isnt it German Measles that can give adults shingles? To be honest i dont think its a good idea for them to come. If they do then i move the PC to another room before they get there (like your bedroom). If he asks to use it tell them its got a virus and if he ever sees you on the PC tell him you are trying to fix it (or use the PC at night when he is asleep!) It would drive me mad running around after that lot... one visitor at a time, ok. I have now realised that having my friend over with her partner and 2 kids is no longer going to be an option!!! :rotfl: Where do you live by the way? We are on the Costa Blanca in Quesada, its about 25 mins from Torrevieja.

Aaah the trials and tribulations of living in sunny Spain! :rotfl: We seem to go through phases, one year no visitors - absolute bliss... :cheer: next year we get invaded regularly :rotfl: This is an official invasion year. Truth is, I dont mind too much, as I have a big family anyway with three kids, dog and cats..oh yes, and a husband! so i am used to noise and mess, hehe.
I do sympathise tho, Anna...dont let them boss you around, they should behave like human beings, of the civilised variety. You should remind people that this is your home, not a resort or hotel. I do. If people dont behave, i dont invite them back, simple.

Just tell 'em it is not going to be possible, with your LO sick.   Hope he is feeling better soon

I'm lucky ... the only friends I have that would need to be put up in our place don't like the heat and only come in the winter.. :rotfl: They came over in March, when lil miss was just a few months old.. they have two very noisy children...They living in a semi in the country so its not too bad having noisy kids but in a 4 bed apartment is a different story...mind saying that we living in a very Spanish area and well I don't think the Spanish mind too much :rotfl: I was constantly telling them to be quiet all the time but thats cos I like my quiet household..

My parents sometimes have issues with their family coming over... They usually tell them they can't come for various reasons.. such as they are redecorating the spare room because its got damp.... they have to go away with my brother for his swimming competitions... Tia will be staying in the spare room as I'm away or something.. :rotfl: :rotfl: None of it true but my dad's an expert in waffle..

Just tell them they can't come over.... Its not your right to put them up and they are already in a resort 20 minutes away.. You've got a sick baby tell them to stay away..
