Hello ladies, i attended my midwife appointment on 20/12/12 at 3pm and was given a membrane sweep due to irregular contractions, came home had my show at about 6pm and felt nothing till 8pm when whilst i was ironing i felt some throbbing pain in my back when i finished the ironing i decided to go for a bath and the pain disappeared.
At 11pm i started getting severe pains every 2mins and rushed to hospital to be told i was 5cm dilated at 11.45pm my waters were broken by midwife, and contractions were extremely intense. after waters broke i was 6cm dilated.
At 02.10 the midwife told me i was 10cm dilated and my little girls head wasnt fully engaged yet so would probably be a while within 5 mins i was screaming i felt i needed to push midwife tried to fob me off till i asked her to check and sure enough my little girls head was right down.
i started pushing at 02.15 and my little girl was born at 02.27am a whole 17 mins in full blown labour sounds like a great labour but once my girl was out i started bleed and had to be rushed to theatre.
13 midwifes and doctors rushed me to theatre, i lost 2.3 litres of blood and had to get a vaginal pack put in and a catheter, i woke up from the general anasthetic about 5am.
had to be put on drips, oral medication and injections, was allowed home the following day at 5pm due to the progress i had made.
