Hello

I have been trying not to rely too much on the internet since I found out I was pregnant as there seemed to be something new to stress about with each click of the mouse; thankfully I stumbled on this site and it helped to read some positive support.

OK, so I found out I was pregnant on 29th Oct with 3 CB digi which said I was 1-2 weeks; went to docs on Thursday and she dated me to 6 wks with a dd of 25th June. My hubby and I are so excited but I have not been able to stop worrying.

I have been suffering form some cramping and stabby pains on my left side then last night I woke up on my back, rolled over to my left side and got some really sharp pains accross my stomach, plus a cold sweat. I got up to wee (sorry tmi) and checked but there was no blood (still none). As I couldn't settle I woke poor hubby up to take us to A&E at 3am!

A&E nurse was great and took urine, bloods and bp then sent me to docs for an us; if anyone has seen House then picture him and that was my doctor, blunt is not the right word. The did a scan and couldn't see anything so immediate panic on my part. He then reeled off every possibility from eptopic preganancy and the possible surgery/tablets, possible mc, early pregnancy that just isn't showing yet I thought my head was going to explode.

I have to go back tonight for an internal us which he said may still not show anything (aaargh!) and also see what my Hormone levels are; does anyone know what they should be?

Sorry for the very, long email but I needed to get this off my chest as work is just not distracting me at all.

Has anyone else gone through this? As I am still so early we haven't told anyone so can't even ask friends and family for advice.

Thank you for reading. Xx

Internal scans give a much better view hunny. I wouldn't mind betting you have a cyst on your ovary, I have 4 and they can be very painful in early pregnancy but 99% of them disappear of their own accord and don't affect the baby whatsoever. (Although as mine are permanent I have to have surgery once Albert is born )

It's normal to get some degree of pain as your womb squatter makes himself comfy and everything else gets shoved out of the way lol. Try not to worry, you don't know exactly what's going on yet and the stress won't do you or baby any good.

The best of luck to you hunny  xxxxxxxxxx

Anything over 7 in your hcg levels indicates pregnancy. 6 weeks is early for a scan so that's why they would be doing an internal. They aren't painful so don't worry about that. You won't see much, maybe a little blob and a flicker of a heartbeat :)
Cramps are very normal in early pregnancy xx

Hi hunny i have had the same type of pain i also had some bleeding ...they thought my pregnancy was ectopic also ....my fist bloods were 749 and they expect them to raise 100% every two days ..my first ultrasound showed nothing at first but eventually they found and empty and tiny gestation sac ...... i had another two blood tests but levels were only rising 70% last wednesday i had another ultrsound last wednesday and it showed a bean with heartbeat in the previously empty gestation sac ...the only strange thing about the scan was they couldnt find my right ovary but she didnt seem to worried about that .....hope your ok sweetie and try not to worry to much (imoposible i know)

hugs and keep us updated

Ovaries move around as the uterus grows, both of mine are behind apparently so need internal scans to check them xxxxxx

It was an internal scan hun ..she said she wasnt worried as it probably meant it was small witch meant there was no chance of having a cyst on it or anything

Thank you for the support ladies; the term womb squatter gave me my first chuckle of the day!

Just counting down until the scan which isn't until 6pm tonight; work just really isn't getting a look in so far but never mind, hopefully we will get some positive news tonight and if not then I am back in hospital at 3am on Wednesday morning to have another set of bloods taken.

Thanks again and all take care. Xx

How did you get on Becky? Hope it's all good xx

Hello folks

Just a wee update from the scan last night; we went for the internal scan (don't think I have ever seen hubby so uncomfortable and he wasn't the one with a Harry Potter wand inside him!)

We got to see a clear sac and a small coffee bean inside; no heart beat as the doctor put me at 4 weeks , not the 6 weeks my GP said, so this is normal (phew). My bloods came back at over 6000 which is apparantly normal for 4 weeks.

We are going back in 2 weeks to hopefully see a bigger bean with a wee heart beat.

I just want to say thank you to you all again for the supportave messages, for people I have never met you really helped me through yesterday. Best of luck with all of your bean adventures.

I suppose I now have no excuse to keep putting off work, damn!

Xx

So glad your scan went well and good luck for your next one and your bloods! I'm sure you'll see a little heartbeat next time :)
