I was just going to say be prepared for the runs or sickness I personally wouldn't of taken it so agree with bb I was given a sweep at 40+7 and induced at 40+12 and James was born the day I was induced everywhere us different but usually induce you at 11/12 days over and no more.......fingers crossed it works for you though and good luck xxx

Very disappointed - even castor oil failed me!! That means I've officially tried EVERY old wives tale I could find, except acupuncture I guess my body just isn't up for labour!

Definitely having that sweep tomorrow (that I expected on Monday - hmph!), so it's my last hope!

Looking quite likely inducement at 42 weeks for me :'( xxx

Castor oil worked for me at 40+5 - I gave birth at 40+6.

I took 60ml castor oil with 60ml orange juice and I went into labour about 5 hours later. The bad thing about it though is that it makes your labour more intense. My contractions started at 3 mins apart and lasted 1 minute - they were thick and fast but my labour continued like that for 16 hours before I had to be transferred to the main hospital for failure to progress. The labour was 21 hours in total.

Ouch! Lucia Leek, thats deff put me off castor oil, i tried a tiny bit with oj, 2 days in a row but it just gave me bad stomach and ill with the 2nd lot, so decided against using it, if my body's rejecting it, god knows what baby thinks of it.

RLT doesn't seem to work either, the only thing that gets my hopes up is going for a long painful (& i mean painful) walk to the beach.

the steep hill was a killer today, but that could just be my muscles and hips screaming for me to rest rather than body preparing for labour! lol

Hope something happens naturally for you this weekend Carly!!! i feel ur frustration! x
