my daughter is four and she goes to school.for the last couple of months she has had a few accidents at school, but lately it's almost everyday!! i am at the end of my teather!! she never wets the bed,and never wets herself at home, but on monday she wet herself twice when she got home from school.we currently have a smiley face chart at home where she gets a sticker on the days she is dry.but this doesn't seem to be working either. i asked her whay does she not go to the toilet when she needs wee, and she replied that she doesn't know she needs to go. the teacher has now contacted the school nurse.anyone else in or had a similar situation? any advice will be welcome with open arms!!!! :?

if she is only doing this at skool, hae u asked her if she is alrite, there may be a reason why she only does it at skool

I had this with my daughter (now almost 13). I'm not going to be much use to you I'm afraid, but just wanted to show you that you're not alone!! Sorry!!

She potty trained really easily, and like your daughter, never wet the bed. But about a year after she was potty trained she started wetting herself during the day.

Well, I tried everything. I sat down and talked to her to find out why she was doing it, I tried ignoring it in case it was attention seeking, I tried telling her off when she did it, but nothing seemed to work. she just kept saying that she never knew when she needed to go. The really bad news is that it continued until she was about 9. Sorry Madmish! :(

The older she got, the harder it became to understand why. I even remember losing my rag with her one day telling her that she would become known as smelly Kayleigh at school, and that would be a nickname that would stick with her!

I took her to the doctors and she did tests for bladder infections, but nothing. Eventually, she just grew out of it.

Oh, but my mum did mention to me that I did it until I was about 6, so maybe it's hereditary in some way.

Like I said, sorry I can't offer any advice Madmish, I just wanted to offer supoprt.

ah well at least i am not alone!! the hereditary thing is interesting, because my mum said i did it until i was about 6/7 years old. she loves school and is very eager to go there, so i don't think she upset by anything. i also thought it was an attention thing, but it appears not to be. my mum said i just grew out of it, i guess it's just a mater of wait and see. hopefully the school nurse will be helpful.

thanks guys!

Okay some of my two sence. (SIC) My four year old was really really hard to potty train. he was almost four before he started going on his own. Then after about 6 months he started wetting the bed. Never did this before, We found that it was due to a new medication, Check and see if there is anything new in her life be it medication or lifestyle change. I wet the bed till i was 14 sometime twice a night. it was all mental. the day that my father moved out of the house i never wet it again. I hope that this helps a little bit
