So at the moment just like many around this stage I'm fed up this is my first pregnancy and I am getting impatient.
I know labour is near and will happen when baby is ready so trying to be patient but would like to go into labour sooner rather than later but i have no control over that matter .
I'm just a little concerned that im in for the long haul ive heard sayings such as first pregnancies uaually go over and I've heard stories from many women talking about how they have a bad back or have had Braxton hicks contractions starting before now or around now or experiencing signs labour is close I should count myself lucky and stop complaining but just feel a little disheartened because i dont have any signs that labour is close I know my due date is still 2 and a bit weeks away but I thought there may be something ?
Midwife has said babies head is engaged and in the right position and low down but apart from that nothing.

Can women go in to labour all of the sudden without any signs on the days leading up or do you usually feel it coming?

My first and second both came early by 8 days and other 2 weeks. I cant say i actually got any obvious symptoms of labour coming unless i just wasnt intune with my body. Appart from sudden bowel movement increase. Both times my waters broke as i was getting into bed at night. Dont worry im sure baby will come in good time. Make sure u get plenty of rest before baby comes.

You will know when you were in labour! My furst pregnancy I sat googling from 37 weeks thinking how will I know, I was so excited to have the pregnancy part over and have my baby in my arms so I totally feel you. Lol.
I was only a couple of days over my due date but it did feel like I was waiting forever so the thought of going 2 weeks over this time round scares me!! Baby can be engaged for weeks so I wouldnt take that as a sign as such, its great that baby is in a good position though. I had slow labour for a couple of days but thats just my experience. The first part of labour I think tends to be the longest as your contractions build. I would rest as much as you can and just get yourself prepared foe meeting your new addition!! Xxx

The first time go over is such a crock of sh** I went two weeks before. I thought I had braxton hicks but I was in early labour... my waters didn't go until I was in active labour and already with a midwife...

Hiya

My first came on due date, I had no obvious signs, the plug went but it was brown which meant his meconium came out so I was sent to hospital and prepped for a c-section as he was having difficulties, in the end though I didn't have him till the Friday (I went in the wednesday)and I had him naturally but I never had the experience of the labour starting, the waters breaking etc so am so nervous this time round as I don't know what is potentially the start? I am so ready though, fed up and want my body back, am 36 + 5 x
