I've just got back from my appointment. Saw a different midwife today who was covering for the one who I've seen the last couple times. She was really nice though
Everythings fine, Logans still head down and 4/5 palpable.
I told her about the period pains I've been getting and she asked if james was early. When I told her James was born at 38 weeks she said maybe I'll be early again this time
Logans heartbeat is 140bpm (James was normally between 140-144bpm) and she said he sounds like a boy. I had already told her I'd found out the sex at my 4d scan.
My fundal height was spot on this time. Normally it's a week or two ahead. This midwife was older than my normal one and more experienced, she spent time finding my pubic bone so her measurement is probably more accurate. She seemed more experienced at feeling the baby too, asking me to breath in and breathe out slowly when feeling the head position.
I asked if the heartbeat wives tale has any truth in it and she said last year she kept a record of all the heartbeats she listened too, then followed up after the birth to find out of they were the right speed.
Apparantly 75% of the heartbeats she listened to corresponded with the wives tale so she thinks there's some truth in it, but it's not totally accurate.
Got another big bottle of gaviscon...I love gaviscon!
