I've just got back from my appointment. Saw a different midwife today who was covering for the one who I've seen the last couple times. She was really nice though :D

Everythings fine, Logans still head down and 4/5 palpable.
I told her about the period pains I've been getting and she asked if james was early. When I told her James was born at 38 weeks she said maybe I'll be early again this time

Logans heartbeat is 140bpm (James was normally between 140-144bpm) and she said he sounds like a boy. I had already told her I'd found out the sex at my 4d scan.

My fundal height was spot on this time. Normally it's a week or two ahead. This midwife was older than my normal one and more experienced, she spent time finding my pubic bone so her measurement is probably more accurate. She seemed more experienced at feeling the baby too, asking me to breath in and breathe out slowly when feeling the head position.

I asked if the heartbeat wives tale has any truth in it and she said last year she kept a record of all the heartbeats she listened too, then followed up after the birth to find out of they were the right speed.
Apparantly 75% of the heartbeats she listened to corresponded with the wives tale so she thinks there's some truth in it, but it's not totally accurate.

Got another big bottle of gaviscon...I love gaviscon! :cheer: :cheer:

Glad it went well hun.. Just think you could have your baby in 2 weeks!!

I love gaviscon as well... I just bought a bottle of the pink stuff (double action) and I dont think its as good as the regular gaviscon.

gaviscon is my friend too :cheer:

glad everything is ok MM! not long till logan (great name!) makes an appearence!!

Good to hear that it went well.

It is lovely when you have a nice and competent midwife. One of the midwifes I see always hurts me when she tries to find my pubic bone - not sure why she has to press so hard (others don't do).

I bet you wouldn't mind if Logan came out a little early. :D

Sounds like a you had a good appointment :D

Good news that you might not have too much longer to wait to meet Logan, as you don't go before me

Hello

i had my 36 week one today as well!

I also asked about my period type pains, it is race between us he he...

they are worrying tho, they get so bad and I woke up with one almighty braxton hicks tonight and was clutching the hot water bottle against my tummy, believe you me I am on the alert for any more!

glad you had a good appointment tho

I got a big bottle of gaviscon too yesterday :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: that'll be the last bottle before we pop now

I reckon I'll end up going overdue now you've all said that
Not ready for Logan yet! Still decorating our bedroom and got all the contents of out bedroom piled in James' room.
Logan can come at 39 weeks when the room will be finished and I've had a chance to clean up! :D
