33 weeks and still 8 weeks til due date ???

Im wondering if this is normal or maybe my due date is wrong. According to by dates and LO's scan i am 33 weeks pregnant and my due date is the 20th Sept. But that means i will be 40 weeks when im supposedly due. Shouldnt your due date be when you're 36 weeks pregnant so that would make it 23rd Aug? Im confused...

No - full term pregnancy is classed 37 weeks - but you are not classed as 'due' until 40 weeks pregnant!
