finley had his first immunisations yesterday. when she did the first one his started squealing and crying like i have never heard him before and he was looking at me with these puppy dog eyes as if to say please make them stop mummy. and then she did his other leg and he was even worse. she said its beacuse hes never felt pain before but it really upset me and i started crying like a big baby!
now i keep having these flash backs of him squealing and sobbing and me having to pin him down and it keeps making me cry.
iv asked my mum if she will take him for his next ones but she says dont be stupid we all have to do it nicola.
but i really dont know if i can watch that again :(
am i being weird or does it upset anyone else like this?

Asher has just had his 3rd lot. It is very upsetting to see them screaming like they do, but it's part of our job as mums to see that they get their imunisations.

Most of my friends made their husbands take the day off work to go with them to the immunisation. I personally (just my opinion), think this is a little over the top.

There are lots of things we have to cope with whilst we're at home with our babies, and I feel it's my duty to do them responsibly.

I hate taking him for immunisations, but it has to be done.

Don't worry, your LO won't associate you with the jabs, it'll be the nurse. You just cuddle and comfort them whilst it's being done.

I know how you feel. I was almost in tears when Adam got his last week. It really is horrible to see them so upset. He took a temp during the night after which was worse.

I'm not looking forward to his next set, and I'm dreading going through it all again. xxx

no ur not stupid.. i cried when he had his heal prick.. im dreading next weeks jabs :(

I walked out of the room in floods of tears when Tia had her lumber puncture at 8 months... The noise she made will haunt me forever...but it was the look on her face as if she was begging me to make them stop with her eyes and asking me why I was letting them do it...

Lil mis had loads of blood taken when in SCBU but they made me leave... her lil hands were black and blue for two weeks... so when she had her heel prick test she didn't really scream... just whinge a lot...

I'm not looking forward to the jabs though because of the after effects rather than the crying. :(

Ive always took my little ones on my own but its still heart wrenching watching them cry as i always get a lump in my throat trying my best not to cry. :?

yeah me! thought i was the only one lol. the nurse looks at me like "are u for real?" coz i stand in the corner pulling my hair up and out just above my ears while my boyf or mum holds her for me!
awful innit
