dont 4get. channel 4 at 9pm
one born every minute

cant wait 2 watch it,but worried it'll scare us lol

I can't wait- I know it's going to freak me out but I feel I've got to see it! DH is out at football so I'll be watching it on my own :(

my hubby is out too so i'll watch it on my own but I have told him i will sky+ it for him. dont think he was too impressed! x

Can't wait, going to scare me to much though lol! x

I'm ready to watch it!!
OH is at his mums for the night so told him to watch it to, so he can see what is going to happen before we get to July! :)

Thanks hun, I've Sky +'d it :yay:

omg... that Steve is such a bugger!!!! I couldn't help but grin, Hubby was wetting himself! I said he better not dare be like that cause I prob won't take it as well as she was! xx

It's already bugging the shit out of me.....no wonder everyone is scared of labour....

I'm not scared of it. I think it is a good insight so far. I feel so sorry for that poor girl, she does seem so scared. :(

It's not representative of any birth experience I've had.....at all.....

Have yours been much smoother? Every birth is different I am sure... x

I've had 2 very different ones. An induction and forceps delivery and a natural birth with no assistance or complications. It's all the negative things the MWs are saying and the images of screaming women....it doesnt have to be like that and programs perpetuate the belief that it does.

the place where it was filmed didn' come across as very professional at all
where I work the receptionist would have sacked for the amount of nail polish she had on and he faces she was pulling whilst on the phone were ridiculous...
have sky+'ed it for DH but don't think that I'll be watching it again if I have anything better to do...

oh i see what you mean. Not so much about the birth themselves, but the way the 'typical woman in labour' is portrayed. Yeah I also thought the woman on reception was awful. I am from Canada originally, and over there midwives are quite a new thing, when I was born your GP generally delivered your baby, they new you for years, new all of your history and really were 'on call' for when you needed them. You would have one particular midwife/gyny through your whole pregnancy and they would be the person rushing to the hospital to be with you through labour and delivery. It amazes me the lack of support those women were getting from the midwives, they are just to short staffed... so inpersonal. xx

The whole thing was awful. From the horrific receptionist to the negative language the MWs use to scare the women into submission. Babies heartbeats DO dip during contractions - she shouldnt have used that as a way to frighten that woman in to pushing. It's no wonder so many women are crapping themselves at the prospect of giving birth the way the media continues to portray it. I will watch next week in the hope that they show some positive images of women enjoying their labours.....

That's the hospital I should have my baby at!!!! Luckily we're moving!!! I have to say that I really wasn't impressed when we went in for the scan - they were all really rude and what I saw of the hospital was really grotty and depressing - not how I'd imagined things anyway!

They were advertising it on the radio earlier saying that they hoped it showed what a beautiful experience giving birth is..... hmmmm!

That Steve guy was such an idiot! If he laughing like that around me and taking the piss for having pain relief I know what i would do to him.

Why was the 18yr old son there watching it all too? Is it just me or is there somthing wierd about that? x

My ma phoned whilst I was trying to watch this, now I'm having to watch it on 4+1 lol!!
