Hiya,

It's Reece's birthday in a couple of days and when my mum asked me what she should buy him I told her to buy him a big clear plastic teapot that I saw in Woolies. It has cups and saucers etc inside it and looks great. I think she's got it for him :D Everybody that I've mentioned it to has pulled a face and said something similar to-"what you gonna give a teaset to a baby boy for? that's just weird!!!" :(

I dont think there's owt wrong with it especially at his age. Reece loves pretending to pour stuff into cups and passing them about for people to have a drink so I think he'll love it.

What do you all think then...wierd or ok? :?

If he likes it then why not? At mothers and toddlers the boys all go for the prams and one wee boy sits with jess and they play with the cups and saucers.

Jess has a fine selection of thomas the tank engines, its just what she likes :D

You know what your wee boy likes so let others make a face, silly people.

I'd buy it. I hate all this gender specific stuff, if they want it let them have it. Pplus you have to think one day he'll be someones husband and you don't want him to be one that doesn't make a cuppa!!!!

Totally agree with this! Nowt wrong with a boy playing with a tea set, nor a girl playing with trains.

Mason had a great set, he loved it!
He had a kitchen too with all the pots and pans.

Totally agree with Beanie :)

nothing wrong with it at all.
when kai was about 1 he spotted a pushchair in ELC an he went mad for it, he got it an was so proud of it, my mum said u dont say nothin to a man pushin a baby so why shouldnt a little boy push a doll round!

Hey go for it! i was going to say the same as you sophie my little boy wanted the doll and puschair from the elc too and we bought it for him he happily pushes his dolly around it it. whatever makes him happy though. :D

sorry but statistically 99% of gay men had a tea set when the were babies, they did a study in amercia.

:rotfl: Sorry i couldnt help myself!! i cant believe people really think its wrong to let boys and girls play with toys that are traditionally for the other sex. i used to loves my big brothers action men when i was wee.

i have a tea set at my house for all my neices and nephews to play with and they all love it. actually i first got it for my eldest nephew to play with at ours. he used to be so cute when he was about 2 years old pouring every one tea and asking if they wanted 'Sooger' and 'muck'

let him have it - get him trained early like Beanie said!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I wouldn't have a problem buying Jamie one but I think his Dad would have something to say about it (not manly enough  )

I agree get them trained early. :rotfl: *pops to the shops to buy a mini hoover/cooker/washing machine etc!!*

I agree with beanie too, why the heck not? It's not like he'll be wearing a dress and make up playing with it!! or will he??? lmao

I say why not too. I bought my nephew a toy dyson hoover when he was about 3 because he really wanted it. His dad went mad at me but it was blakes favourite toy for ages, he used to follow his mam around the house with it while she was hoovering lol.

i would buy it :D i remember when luke was little he seen twin dollies in a toy shop and really wanted them so i bought them and his dad went mad saying he shouldnt be playing with dolls but he loved them he used to play with them in the bath lol he is now a well turned out teenager if theres any such thing lol xxx

YEP BUY IT!!! get him in training early, he would be doing your house work for you in a few months!! :rotfl: xxx

Hell yeah! My nephews loved stuff like that especially the kitchen thingies & toy ironing boards etc DD had and no they havent turned out gay!

Need I add?

Of course, why not?!! Little boys love it too... Oscar will have a buggy for his bear, tea set, kitchen, etc. I can't wait! :D

Emilia xx

why not, i think it's a great idead and learns them loads of motor skills and cause and effect skills (sorry nursery nurse coming out in me there)

I think all children should be able to play with what they want.

Dads seem to have more issuses with 'gender specific' toys, I just said to Oh i would buy jack a buggy and doll etc... if he wanted them and he said no bloody way!!!! :rotfl: Thats what he thinks :rotfl:

I don't think there's anything wrong with a little boy having a tea set.

When I was little I played with things like toy cars, thomas the tank engine, model aeroplanes etc, as well as traditional girly things like barbie dolls and my little ponies.
Nothing wrong with a good healthy balance.

And like people have said...the kid is gonna need to learn how to make tea at some point! lol

This is a great idea!! !Role play is very good for developing childrens social and emotional skills...

People are silly if they stick there nose upto a teaset for a boy! there is absolutly nothing wrong with it !! :D
