hi can anyone offer any advice or reassurance please i have been using dioderm hydrocortisone cream and i have just read it may not be safe to use during pregnancy what shall I do ? Do you think I can harm my baby? I have only been applying it a few times over the last 2 weeks maybe I'm not sure I cant remember but now I feel sick that I may of harmed my baby. I was not aware of this. This is what it says online There is inadequate evidence of safety in human pregnancy. Topical administration of corticosteroids to pregnant animals can cause abnormalities of foetal development including cleft palate and intra-uterine growth ******ation. There may therefore be a very small risk of such effects in the human foetus. It is unclear whether this product is safe for use during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Animal birth defects have occurred with similar medicines containing corticosteroids, so there may be a very small risk of these problems in humans. You should therefore not normally use this product if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, unless your doctor has recommended you to do so. Sorry so long winded xx

I don't think you should worry hun! I would just call the midwife or GP and ask for reassurance. They can't legally test any products on pregnant women so most creams and pills have this warning.x

Thank you Kitana I will try get hold of my midwife or doctor tomorrow. Thank you. Why do I feel more stressed in this pregnancy than my first i still finding it hard to believe I am pregnant again I think where as my first it sank in this time around It still hasn't i dont think yet. Xx

I wouldnt worry, as Kitana said its usually because they can't do testing as such on pregnant women. But topical treatments don't tend to make their way into the bloodstream as far as I know so creams and things I would just use with a bit of caution x
