Ok so my wee doggie has been "off" since Tuesday, thought it might have been a bug but still not right and is having symptoms which has prompted the vet to admit him for investigations. He's there just now having X-ray, bloods, ultrasound and all that jazz to see what is wrong with him..

I have phoned in sick for work tonight - no way I could get through a night shift when I can even function properly at home :(

Just keep thinking of him at the vet all alone - I wanna go give him a cuddle :(

Why do we get so attached to them? I'm such an animal lover that I can't not have a pet but its torture for me if and when they get sick lol..

Anyway had to just get that out as hubby at work.. Fingers crossed for Charlie

Awwee Charlie is a beaut! I love animals but especially doggies. Hope he's okay and it's maybe just a wee doggy flu.

 I can appreciate how awful it is when they get sick. It's not nice when you don't know what's wrong. xx

Just off phone to vet. That have found a lump/mass in his abdomen. They aren't sure what its attached to but they are hoping its his spleen cos then they can just remove it and he should be ok..

She said that if its attached to something else and they can't remove it or it is spread then as he is so poorly then she said to think about what's best for him and if it is not as straight forward as they hope then she said it might be kinder not to wake him up from his surgery!!

Sitting here bawling my eyes out cos he is only 6!! I'm not ready to let go of my best friend yet!

He's on a drip and she said he has perked up a little bit.. He is going for surgery first thing tomorrow so have the night to think about my options if it is wort case scenario when they open him up! So if it is bad then this time tomorrow I might not have a doggie :-(

Oh, I really hope everything went ok today. Its so hard when they get ill xx

Awk hun

I truly hope they can remove the lump/mass successfully. Oh my, what an awful wait this is going to be for you and having to make a decision dependant on the outcome :( I really feel for you.

C'mon little Charlie! We're rooting for ya! xx

Oh it's so hard isn't it - they are such a big part of the family!
Really hope it's something straightforward and that he'll be right as rain soon xx

Well just went to visit him and he was on his drip to help his anaemia and when he saw us he was wagging his tail an ate a whole tray of chicken we brought him (1st thing he has eaten since Friday!!) so that's an improvement since this morning..

Also the nurse we spoke to was more positive than the one I spoke to on the phone, she says they are hoping its the spleen and can just be taken out, as the signs are generally pointing to that but they wot know until he goes into surgery..

So a bit more hopeful but like I said to hubby is I'm thinking worst case scenario because then if its good news then it's a bonus..

 thinking of you, and hoping your poorly pooch is at home again with you soon.

I hope hes okay hun fingers crossed!! I'll be thinking of you :hugs: Charlie is gorgeous! x

He had surgery today..

Tumour removed from his intestine. It hasn't spread and they managed to get it all out.. But there is risk of infection and of it growing back in future (as with all tumours really)..

He's staying at vets for tonight and they are gonna reassess him in the morning and hopefully start thinking about getting him home :-)

So good news but still taking it slow just now because he has had a big operations and the recovery is the worst part. But vet said earlier he did great during operation an is doing well now so just hoping he pulls through :-) xxx

What a handsome dog! Is he a king Charles? I used to live in a house share that had one. She was so lovely and loyal. Sadly passed away but at a very good age of 12/13. Wishing him a speedy recovery!xx

Good news they could remove it.
Hope he recovers well and give him a cuddle from me too when he's home :)

Yeah, lulabell, he is a King Charles.. Very loyal and loving..

Phoned this morning.. He's still on his IV fluids and medicine. He's fine.. Got his appetite back and is up and about although still a bit groggy and flat. I've to phone back at 4 to see how he's doing but looks like 1 more night in hospital :-(

Never mind just means even more cuddles when he's home xxx

Aww, glad the op went well and that he will be home soon for loads of cuddles x
