Hi ladies

I've just done my first work out since finding out I was pregnant. For a start my work out gear is tight and uncomfortable around my growing abdomen which I must say is growing at lightning speed...I'm already preparing for the comments even although I'm only 5 weeks! (4th child tho)
Anyway I decided to just stick to treadmill and done an hour. I'm thinking about starting yoga aswell.
What is everyone else doing to keep fit in pregnancy? I need some ideas and I want to do it early as it helps with my nausea.

Lynsey xx

I've just been doing walking and cycling at the gym, dont feel up to much else at the moment!

Hey Hazel!

How many weeks are you? With my last pregnancy I was hit with severe morning sickness at about 6 weeks so I'm thinking if I start now and have something to do it will get me out and about and get to the gym because o was miserable and hated going out when I felt so sick.
I'm a little worried as I have not had the usual tiredness or breast tenderness or much at all really I actually feel quite good but I'm just waiting on being hit with all the symptoms at once in a few weeks or so.
Xxx

Hi :)

I'm 7+3. I was exercising 3 times a week until 5+2, that's when the morning sickness got really bad. Haven't really gone out much in the last fortnight. I'm sure you'll start feeling pregnant soon, enjoy feeling fit while it lasts x

Hi Lynsey!

I do barre classes, don’t know what you have in the UK (I’m in the US) and when I don’t feel up to going to the class I do an online one. So far I’ve been keeping up ok. The one I do is called barre3.

Hi ladies, I’m 5 weeks & 5 days on 2nd pregnancy, this post is just what I need.
I’m fairly active, I was running twice a week, kettlebells or circuit classes & playing netball (obviously had to stop that straight away)
I started on the cross trainer today & done some light strength work with 4K kettlebell. Found the exercises advice on this website https://www.drdaps.co.uk/single-post/2017/08/07/First-Trimester-Workout-Plan . I know running is ok I’m just worried I may fall or it be to strenuous for a growing bump, plus I’m not that good a runner anyway! Any suggestions welcome x

Oh I had a look at Barre that looks great.
I have just found a pre natal yoga class in my area so hoping to try that
I'm also thinking I might do some light weights also and I'm going to look into buying some. I found lots of pregnancy work out videos on YouTube aswell.
I hope my enthusiasm for fitness keeps up this time as I don't want to end up eating what I want and becoming unfit again. I only really started to care about getting fit after my last baby almost 5 years ago x

Finally1, I was an avid long-distance runner for years and always attempted to keep running through my pregnancies and I just couldn't. It was uncomfortable, I had to pee CONSTANTLY, and even if I didn't have to pee it felt like I did... I got winded, I got cramps, I hated it. For my second pregnancy I pushed myself too hard and ran a half marathon at 28 weeks and it was one of the most miserable experiences of my life. I have realized that some women can run just fine and some (like me) just simply can't. I think it has nothing to do with how fit you are, it just has to do with how your body carries babies. Some women benefit from a belly support band; I did to a degree, but mostly it was just awful!

Lynsey, Barre has done incredible things for my body. I have seen such a physical transformation and I feel so steady, stable, and strong. I absolutely love it. I plan to do prenatal yoga too, probably starting around 11-12 weeks. Since we're not sharing our news yet I don't want to show up to a prenatal class and have to tell a bunch of strangers... not yet anyway!

Thank ladies, I’m going to look into barre now. I’ve never heard of it .
Kholl I don’t enjoy running at the best of time so any excuse to Stop I’ll take!

I did one barre class at my gym and it almost killed me, haha. It was fun though.
