My first baby, my daughter was born by c-section due to being breech so when I was pregnant with my 2nd baby, my son, they offered me another section but I said no because I wanted to experience a natural birth but it actually really traumatized me!!!!
Most would say this is lucky but I woke up during the night and my waters had broke so we drove straight to the hospital which was a 10 min drive away, I didnt have any build up contractions, no pain at all UNTIL we got to the hospital!
As soon as we were showed to the room I had the most awful burning pain in my tummy which made me SCREAM my head off so they told me to lay down, hooked me up to a machine and told me to start pushing!
Like I said there was no build up contractions, the first contraction I had was when it was time to push so if you've been through a natural birth you'll know how horrendous the pain is when it gets to that stage.
It was so quick there was no time for pain relief, even the gas and air didn't do anything for me.
alot of mums have mild contractions for sometimes days and it builds up and up and up so I think where I didn't get the mild contractions and the build up to the pushing contractions it was a huge shock for me.
When Hayden was born I didnt even want to hold him and I believe the birth kicked off my PND so what I was wondering is..........
will they offer me another c-section even after I did it naturally? I know what these bloody consultants are like and if I explain how badly a natural birth effected me and the PND will they take all this into account?
