aww missj, thats a bit crap! Was really hoping for a good update from you. I think the way all surgeries are run is rubbish. I have a fab gp, but the way the surgery goes about things is terrible! Hope this week goes quick for you x

On the urine results front, the receptionists have to get a GP to interpret the results but then they can give them to you, ask them to show them to one of the docs and then call you back.

I think you may be able to manage with a 10 min apt and lets face it they won't exactly chuck you out if you are a bit longer.

I'd try and get it ASAP.

We tried that as she said the GP had seen them but wanted to discuss at the appointment as they would normally. Hubby said it was unfair to keep us waiting and he tried his best but she refused.

I think we took the slot tomorrow, will have to check with hubby. If we haven't then we have to wait til next week.

Hi ladies, v. quick update...

It turned out we did have the appointment today, we got there just in the nick of time and saw the GP who is absolutely lovely, she really put me at ease and made me feel like she really cared.

My urine sample that had traces of blood showed an infection although I had no symptoms of a UTI, so she might do more tests, not sure and will find out at next appointment.

She asked about why we needed a fertility appointment (hubby didn't want to use a 10 min slot but she asked so... ). We explained about crappy GP and she was really shocked and printed a form for blood tests right there and then and suggested I might have PCOS ( ) so we've got bloods booked to check FSH, LH, prolactin, glucose... all that stuff.

She said she can book further investigations but will do the bloods for now and we will have a 30min slot when I get my results to discuss what they are and what tests are next. One step at a time she said!

Really chuffed we're all booked in and the ball is rolling! Will update more on Monday.

Thats great news, just to let you know though I have got pcos which i had diagnosed by scan but before my scan i had the tests youre having and they all came back fine. apparently these levels can all be fine but you can still have the syndrobe. just to give you the heads up x

If the bloods come back ok (which I kind of doubt due to my OV tests always showing strong lines which would indicate high LH) then the next step would be another scan as my last one showed follicles on my ovaries but last GP didn't bother to check any further for PCOS as my new GP said my cycles are abnormal but we didn't talk in detail about it and our TTC issues with OV tests etc... That's all for next appointment though as she just wants to do the bloods first. I'm booked in for next Wednesday and should get the long appointment for 7 days later she said.

Oh and it's a fasting blood test...Not sure if that's what anyone else had?

Hey Hun, I don't know what fasting blood test are but I had 4 tubes of blood taken I had 2 for all hormones 1 for my thyroid and 1 for my insulin. So maybe they were the same xx

Yeah I dont remember if mine was a fasting one but mine was for the same things as you so would think theyre the same but not really sure x
