Why more boys than girls?

I got curious....as gemini's often do, as to why there seems to be so many girls born, but only a handful of boys... I found the above link about a place in Canada which has this problem... Though ppl might like to have a read..

i suppose there is some scientific reason somewhere... liek the weather or global warming on balls or something...
