Why don't they give enemas anymore?!

Ive got one worse. I had a section so I was totally paralysed from the chest down, and I had an allergic reaction so they gave me some medicine up my bum (which I didnt even know about til afterwards :faint: ) but I did know that I had full on diahrrea right there in surgery in front of at least 8 health professionals, my OH and my newborn son. I couldnt feel it and couldnt control it. Aparently its a side effect of what they gave me. Thanks very much guys. If a little bit of poo comes out when Im pushing on my next baby Ill be overjoyed  its all about perspective!

Also just thought Id point out poo only happens during the final stage of labour, any other time if you need a poo, you just go to the toilet like normal, you'll have a toilet attached to your labour room.

Oh yeah thts true :) when I was in Labour I needed to pee all the time I was basically running back and forth to the loo and it was fine . I just obviously couldnt at the end stage

It sounds awful, but I'm more embarrassed about my OH looking down there and seeing an over stretched floof !! What if he doesn't wanna "go down there" again??

I know its the most natural thing in the world and decent men who have seen it have said its amazing, but just what if he can't get that image out his head?x

Oh btw, wanted to ask long time ago - is it ok to push when you go to the loo during the first stage? They say you shouldn't push until fully dilated... ?

if you have a water birth they should have told you that you need a sieve for the poo. Its something Im a bit worried about but nothing you can do and like Ive said on another thread honest to give you dont care in the end xxx

I hired my birthing pool and it comes with a sieve!! my husband wants to 'receive' the baby so he is going to have his hands there and it makes me cringe!!

Yeah I heard about that. Hopefully they won't ask me or my husband to use the sieve?.. :-/
