What are our challenges? I think those weekend naps I took last time are out the window  And having to stop Stanley treading on my tummy isn't easy

I feel more nervous and worried this time, it's like I'm already so blessed I guess.

How are we doing, second/third/FOURTH(?) time mums?

hey hun.....ima sencond time mum to be :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: when preggo with christopher i used to have naps in the afternoon in the 1st 12 weeks as i was so tired   but thats out the window now most of the week unless MIL takes him    otherwise i end up asleep on the sofa being hit with allsorts :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

im also scared to death this time round, took it with a pinch of salt last time. bt this time round i cant stop worrying and wishing the weeks away

ohh the joys of pregnancy and a toddler :wall: :wall: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

maybe we should have a mum2b plus 1 sticky :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I'm expecting baby number 4 so it's generally a bit mental in our house!!!
I'm quite lucky as my older two are at school and charlie still naps in the afternoon so we have our little routine of housework and playtime in the morning and me lyin on sofa in front of the telly while he has his nap in the afternoon !!! it's working so far

i'm having baby no 3 :cheer: it's my husbands first :D

Hey Sweet!

Well you know I already have one....and im also twice as worried as I was when I was pregnant with Zachary, I think maybe its cos we know what to expect, which can be quite daunting dont you think?

Its definately loads harder 2nd time round. Ive been struggling to look after Zac when ive been feeling so so sick and have just wanted to crawl into my bed and sleep!!!! But you do just get on with it cos you have no other option. I just cant wait to get to 12 weeks, its really dragged where as im sure it didnt this much the first time round.

Im sure there will be loads more things along the way though, you cant help but wish the weeks along can you, always hoping to get to the next stage!

Hiya Minxy

Well as you know this baby will be my 3rd. Im struggling with sickness at the minute, all thought its not as babd as it was with olivia it feels as bad this time as its such hard work in the morning trying to get over my sickness and get olivia ready at the same time! She is constantly at the toilet with me flushing the chain everytime im sick and putting toilet roll donw the loo :wall: Its good she isnt frightened but it is hard work trying to dodge her hand when she is throwing loo roll down the loo and try to tell her "no" between the sickness when i can hardly talk :rotfl:

I also cant nap this time as Olivia decided that she doesn't need her afternoon nap anymore so im finding it really tiring, its a miracle if im still up before 9pm

Nappies are also a problem as they make me wanna :puke: and she has just has a week of having the runs so that was a nightmare. Im hoping to get her potty trained after xmas so hopefully that wont be a problem for much longer.

I'll stop babbling now, it sounds like im having a right moan but i wouldn't change what i have for the world (apart from the sickness lol)

Aw Kelly, bless your little toilet helper! It never occured to me that the LOs might be frightened by mummy chucking up :?

It's true about wishing it away Jaidy, although I know that's bad. I'm just dreading this first tri, I had a rough time of it before, and I'm just waiting for the nausea :(

Who's kept all their maternity clothes? Are they the right size/season for you? I don't think I've got much left at all after lending them out.

omg i just noticed this, big congrats on your pregnancy hun

Its hard work with being preggers and having a toddler just try and rest as much as poss, i find i have to have a nap in the afternoon when tia has hers or i dont make it past 8 o'clock

Im quite load when im throwing up, specially first thing when my tummy is empty  and when she first heard me she cried a little but once i reasured her that mummy was ok she was fine, i think she is used to it now

Hey Minxy!

I'm also expecting my second baby... so far I have actually found it easier as I was working full time whilst pregnant with Amber (dong 45 hours p/wk), and didn't start my maternity leave until I was 32 weeks, I was constantly tired and had bad morning sickness but had to put on a brave face at work! This time around, I'm not working, and Amber is at Playschool 3 days a week for 2.5 hrs, so i get some time to myself! Me & her daddy have to keep reminding her to be careful though when she jumps on me for a cuddle, to watch my tummy!
The only thing I would say with this one is, I knew I was pregnant by about 3 weeks, before I'd even done a test.. with Amber I didn't know until I was 14 weeks! So it seems to be going soooo slowly this time!!

I'm also having my second :cheer: I'm really struggling with sickness. First time, I started feeling better around 14 wks so I'm hoping I'll start feeling better soon.
I think there are also some great things about being a mum already. I'm soo looking forward to feeling the kicks again (until the last few weeks) I can't wait to breastfeed again, even in the middle of the night when its just the two of you. Seeing DH and LO asleep together on the sofa!
We'll all be feeling better soon ladies, lets focus on all the great things we have go to look forward to :cheer:

Arrgghh this is the 3rd time im typing this message as my pc is playing up!! :x

I am preggy second time round and oddly enough, I feel a bit calmer than my first pregnancy...maybe because I have yet to see the doctor/midwife and because in my mind its ages to go to the first scan or bump appearing or first kicks....

Challenges for me....

1) carrying Jacob - 22lbs isn't easy when your tired and back-achy!

2) stopping Jacob from kicking my tummy! (then again he put his hands on my tummy the other day and I wondered if he sensed something?)

3) less to plan for...everything is already here for baby no 2.. cot, essentials, unisex 0-3 clothes etc and there is no new nursery to plan (boo hoo)*..baby no 2 will be in our bedroom until he/she is old enough to join Jacob in his room.

*unless its twins where we have no choice but convert the tiny guestroom...I hope its twins lol...i get to do my 'wannabe interior designer' thing again !

4) Not puking over Jacob - I had a turn of morning sickness whilst changing Jacob this morning and had to stop myself from hurling....then contain the urge to be sick until I could finish changing Jacob and put him safe in his cot...then I dashed to the toilet to hurl my guts out (whilst Jacob is crying as he doesn't want to be on his own !). After being sick, I then go to pick up Jacob who 'affectionately' wallops me around the face and pinches my nose. I love being a mum lol.

ps mum2be plus one sticky is a great idea!

Well I am pregnant with my second. I have found that this time round I am so busy that I cant focus my whole attention on being pregnant. Infact I keep forgetting that I am pregnant, expect for when I am throwing up! I am lucky because my daughter still naps for 2 hours during lunchtime so I can have a little nap on the sofa. I have found that my husband is much more understanding and excited this time round; I think its because he knows what a joy comes after the 9 months of moaning (as i really dont enjoy being pregnant!).

 Hi guys, i love this forum as it is like it reads my mind :D i have read everyones posts above and i was sooooo relieved that i am not the only one who is feeling like this !

I am pg with my second, my son is 2 1/2 years old, and i am struggling to keep up with him...

I am 7weeks pregnant, and have been feeling very sick up until 2 weeks ago (i knew i was pg from 3 weeks), now i am just always very tired...Haydn doesnt always have a sleep in the day time and so am feeling bad as cant crawl on the floor playing cars and trains as it makes me fel sick and just want to curl up on the sofa and

When i was pg with Haydn i was driving 3/4 hour to start work at 7.30am i was a full time nanny to a 1 year old and a 5 year old for 12 hours a day then the drive home...so this time why am i finding it so hard??? :?

Also i am feeling very worried this time that something will go wrong, seems like an age until scan etc...

Thanks to all other 2nd/3rd/4th time mums for showing me i am not alone...at least we can all laugh :rotfl: and cry together and get through it.

I have got my maternaty stuff out but i lost alot of weight since having my son so am a smaller size, but i suppose its a good excuse for some retail therepy :rotfl: if i can stay awake long enough.

   to all

Hi Gals :D

Well - my story -
I'm a mum of one - Naomi, my little sunburst (or tornado depending on mood). As you can see from her ticker she will be three in January. I'm 7 and a half weeks and this is my third pregnancy as I had a miscarriage in December last year.

So far my challenges are:
Eating right - I am overweight and have no intention of ending up on the hippo scale at the zoo after this one!
Carrying/ picking up Naomi and getting her not to kick my tummy - she doesn't know I'm pg.
Working a full school day with 32 very energetic and challenging 9 year olds. (They drove me crazy today.)
Worrying that everything is ok. Though mind you with my last pregnancy something wasn't "right" - my symptoms didn't really kick in and I was running around the place as though not pregnant at all. This pregnancy so far I've been exhausted, a little nauseous, had plenty of round ligament pain, sore breasts and I'm popping out already. Sigh...

My SIL who lives next door just gave me back all my maternity clothes plus some of hers! Her LO is 4 months now and she's starting to wear her normal clothes again! We will have to move Naomi to the spare room and convert our office to a spare room, once Junior is old enough to sleep in his (or her but I feel his) room on his own.

SO lots of fun ahead! It took us a while to get pregnant, nearly 2 years, but hopefully this one sticks.

Best of luck to all second timers!

Sue

Who's told their LO's? I've not told Stanley. I have asked him if he'd like a brother or sister but he just says 'NO' (like he has a choice, mwaaahahahahaha  )

And is anyone else a little bit more slack over their eating and stuff this time. I'm certainly not going to fret if I eat something off the banned list. At least not as much as I did first time. I'm just more relaxed I think.

Bring on those peanuts and Mr Whippy ice cream!!

I'm pregnant with my second and have yet to discover how hard pregnancy will be while running around after my 14 month old

Im carrying my second. I feel more relaxed than last time. same as snuggle have to find out how hard it's going to be with a baby!

I have told Naomi but only in the last two days and I'm so sorry I did it because she's already included bean in her prayers at night. If the worst happens and I tell her this one has gone to heaven she'll never believe me again...

BUT it was funny because I told her she might have a brother or sister and she kept saying "sister" - and I said but a brother would be nice wouldn't it and she just said " sister"...
