Hi All,

Well i got my doppler (angelsounds one) delivered yesterday but it couldnt fit through the door so a leaflet was left saying we had to pick it up. At 7am this morning i asked my OH to go and collect it which he did and then we had a listen. It sounded like a swishing but i could definately hear something behind which sounded like a heartbeat.

I took it into work and thought id ask for some second, third and fourth opinions! I vanished into the meeting room with my old boss and got him to listen (yes this must have looked dodgy.. but me and my OH work at the same place and are all friends) He said it was definately the heartbeat.

Was so amazing.. ive had a couple of listens today but thought i'd best not over do it as im not sure if it can effect baby (anyone know?)

It definately came at a good time as my blood test results for my crohns disease didnt look too good and my inflammatory markers are rising (which shows inflamation in the bowel) Im feeling ok in myself though so my docs arent too worried. still worrying though.

I would definately recommend a doppler though! Amazing..

Aww that's brilliant news! :cheer: It's not harmful to bubs (not research to prove it's harmful anyway) and loads of women use it daily and have no problems at all. If there were, they wouldn't be so well recommended!

But anyway, yeah that's fab news. So exciting and it's yet another thing that makes us "feel" pregnant.

So, you can now see AND hear your baby!! Next step is feeling him/her :cheer: x

When do you start to feel the baby?

Well, hehe, I personally starting feeling little flutters at about 12 weeks because my uterus is tilted forwards and my vaginal canal is about 2.5 inches higher than the "norm" but proper movements (like pokes, prods, turning) were at dead on 16 weeks.

Quite a lot of women feel their babies around 14/15 weeks though (whereas most information books say 18-20 weeks) so I think this forum has more realistic info than the books in SOME areas...

It varies though like anything...

But you've heard the heartbeat very early so your uterus & placenta might be in a really good position which means you might feel the baby earlier?

xx

I was around 15-16 weeks when I first felt Joseph (my first)!
Lucky you Dannii!! :D I get air bubbles in my belly and i tell joe they are pip lmao! He did believe me for about half a second!! hahahaha
"wait, your only 9 1/2 weeks?? " hahaha hes funny :D

aw im glad u got to listen so early, its my favourite thing to do at the min, i always worry i wont hear it, and then am somehow suprised to find it lol if that makes sense :)
