Hi girls, thought you might be interested in this...

When I was TTC last year, I signed up to some info emails that give you various tips etc on how to conceive etc. This email just came through and thought you might like to see it :-) xx

"Many of you are worried that too much
semen is leaking out after you make love and think
this may be why you are not getting pregnant.

Let me assure you this is PERFECTLY NORMAL.

The truth is, up to 35% of the semen may actually
leak out after intercourse. You can minimize this a
bit by staying on your back for about 20-30
minutes with a pillow under you to tilt your
pelvis up (and help with gravity). Any sperm
that leaks out when you finally do get up, doesn't
matter one bit and will not affect your ability
to conceive.

In just a few minutes after intercourse, the sperm
are well on their way to travel through your
cervix--they are excellent swimmers ; - )

I hope that puts your mind at ease."

Sorry if you already know this... however, I certainly didn't know it was up to 35%!!! xx

you're welcome! any other emails that still come through, i'll post up too... ;-) xx

thx I'm gonna go upside down after BD this month don't care how silly I look.

you are all very welcome! we are TTC again now so thought i'd pass on some of the info! I've also posted another thread on 7 interesting sperm killers too! Very interesting read! ;-) xx

thanks for this honestly i turn into spiderwoman climbing up the wall each month to keep the swimmers in lol

Thanks for the info, i always stay upside down for half hour after worryed incase it fell out hehe

That's great! I always hated having to get straight up. So much more seems to appear if you do. Glad to see I was right, even though I only suspected. x

this has made me think

ok so they go up there and settle in, but where do they all go after that? a bit 'drips' out at the time, but what about later? do our bodies absorb them, do we turf them out slowly? or is there just not enough for us to notice the difference (it certainly doesn't feel like it at the time)

anyone got any ideas?

wow, never thought of that before ;-) you got me thinking now too lol xx
