When to take Raspberry Leaf?

Have bought my capsules from Holland and Barret all ready but was told there not to take them until 35 weeks, however midwife has suggested waiting until 37 weeks as they can contribute to early labour. Now early labour i.e 36 weeks + seems like a bloody good option to me especially as they are expecting me to produce a whopper
Whats the general view on the board?

I'd say 35+ weeks is fine.

it is supposed to help ripen your cervix which contributes to labour but even if that's true it's hardly an overnight effect and I imagine it builds up over a couple of weeks at least.

I'm on 3 cups a day!

Thats what I thought, hardly likely to just happen overnight although one can only hope.

ill start taking mine at 34 weeks this time i think.
It doesn't induce labour unless babys ready but i swear it helps the second stage labour,

get the capsules from holland and barrat an make a refreshing cuppa with it! Just tip the tea leaves from the capsule into a cup and add boiling water. Well slightly cooled.

Think it's still worth drinking before a C-section as if it helps tone the uterus it will help recovery?

I bought some Health and Heather Raspberry Leaf tea bags from a local health ffod shop, and the box says 3 cups a day from 35 weeks.

But I've not bothered opening the pack as I'm having a section, but after what you have said LittleMinx, I've just put the kettle on!!!!

i started them at 35 weeks.. i got the tabkets from holland and barratt... and i'm still here! but then they don't start labour off just help to soften the cervix which makes dilating quicker! hope thats right...
