Do you lie down or sit up? I only ask as i always fall asleep when i lie down and listen to it and i have a feeling i'm not taking it all on board properly! Not sure if you should sit up when doing it tho...

Thanks girls xxx

I might try that then, thanks hun! I normally lie on the bed which always makes me fall asleep!!

I lie down, but I'm not put to sleep easily so never have that problem, but it does relax me a lot x

Sorry to budge in, but what hypnobirthing cd would you.recommend? X

Ooh thank you :) I wasn't really interested in hypnobirthing as I thought it'd be a bit of a scam but my OH friend went to classes n she didn't moan or cry during labour .. either that or she likes pain lol x

Yeah, i was quite sceptical too, infact i still am a little bit but i'm that nervous about giving birth that i thought it was worth a try! Having only listened to it a handful of times i already don't feel quite as scared as i did so thats got to be a good thing! xx

I sit propped up in bed but only cos lying down is so uncomfy I can't relax!! I always fall asleep at the bit when she talks through the opening sensations and the baby being born, its like by that point I've got so relaxed I can't help it. As with most self hypnosis cds its ok to fall asleep as your subconscious still takes it all in, so don't worry if you can't stay awake for all of it your brain will still be absorbing it, especially if you wake up when she counts to 5 it means you were aware on some level. I always come to when she does the countdown I go from out like a light to immediately aware and wide awake!!!

I normally lie down as I feel better relaxed and always fall asleep even in the morning but it's strange cos the 1,2,3,4,5 wide awake at the end always wakes me so it must be going in at some level! Going to try listening at the table like suggested and see what I still remember!

I always fall asleep and have never heard it past a certain point! I sit up against pillows on the bed. I'm going to sit and take notes tomorrow of phrases I like, and get to know the structure.

Yeh me and oh did the listening at the table and made notes, it was really useful and helped us both, we have the notes pinned up on the fridge so we remember the stuff that stuck out for us as useful.

I used natal hypnotherapy during pregnancy and birth and can honestly say it helped. I did not understand while pregnant how it was going to help in labour but it did. Listen to it enough and you instinctively use it!

Glad to see your OH's are getting involved to. Mine was brilliant with relax triggers and turning down the pain when we were nearing the end when it got rather uncomfortable.

Good luck to each of you x

I tend to lie down hun...... often fall asleep but always wake up at the count back up bit...it's weird but I hope it's all going in! Am a bit sceptical but I think even if I only remember a couple of things to make the birth easier it'll be worth it! xx
