So I am new at this game and need a couple tips!

I was wondering when you all told your employer that you are pregnant? I am thinking I could wait until I have seen the midwife at around 8 weeks, but if I get morning sickness I may have to let them know sooner?

Also... what was your first step after your BFP? I have been told not to worry about booking an appt until about 8-10 weeks. Is this right? xx

If you're job carries risks to you and baby I'd advise telling employer asap so they can do risk assesment on you. It's perfectly normal not to have booking in appt until 8-10 weeks.

No, I'd phone doc and make apt then they can notify mw. At least, that's what we did. x

i phoned the receptionist and was told i need to pick up a pack of information that i needed to read before my 8 week midwife appointment which i book at the same time!! having a date has given me something to look forward to and count down too x

hi, i told my employers when I was 14 weeks pregnant. I wanted to get the scan out of the way and make sure everything was okay then have some time telling the rest of our family and friends first. I work in a glass factory designing stained glass windows but am around hazzards all the time. Work were positive for me but as said earlier by Helen123 I have to have a risk assessment for health and safety reasons. Just enjoy the time at the mo with friends, family and OH then after the scan let work in on the good news...

Hi ladies, I told work last time after my 12 week scan - although my immediate boss knew earlier cos I was so, so sick. He kept it quiet bless him until I made a proper announcement xxx

Ooh look at us!! It must have been a cold February eh! lol. My is a bit of a guesstimate, we shall see what the scan shows.

I think I might tell my manager sooner so she is a bit more sympathetic! xx

Hey,
I went to the docs straight away (about 2 wks ago) and she informed the midwife and I recieved my letter with an appointment for the midwife at the end of March, so i'll be around 8 wks then! Hopefully get a rough idea about when scan will be. I am also wondering when to tell boss. Im a teacher and want to give her notice, but dont really want everyone to know! Kids keep running anf giving me hugs and im like 'be careful' they dont understand and it will be a long time before I can tell them x
