WHEN DID YOUR BABIES COME?

did your LO's arrive on time? early? or late?

if you went naturally... how did you feel before yor contractions started? did they come on all of a sudden? or gradually? did you feel sick? wake up in pain? did it feel like backache? period pains? pains low down in your lady area?

if you was induced... how long did it take for pains to start after being given the inducing drug? did the pans start off mild and get stronger? or was it full on straight away? where did the pains start? back, stomach, lady aea? how many shots of the inducing drug was you given?

and finally... if you was given an epidural... how far on was you when this was given? was you made to wait until you had dilated to a certain size first?

thanks - just trying to get an idea of what might happen... fed up with the text book answers..

 

6 weeks early! LOL
Mine came on and off over 6 weeks, then slow labour for 1 week, then big con tractrions from 1am on the saturday, waters went at 5pm, then Damien came at 1am! Quick active labour, used just gas and air.

All labours are different hun, you ask 100 people and they would all tell you different I'm sure

Mines was 5 days overdue. I went into labour naturally and got an epidural quite early as they said that at best I was in for a long labour. Labour didnt progress and I ended up having a section.

The pains came gradually. They were like pains in the lady area. I was a wee while before it clicked what they were.

My first was 1 week early and i never really had any signs exept for leaking water. I had an epidural at 5cms. With Aimee she was 2 weeks late and i was induced. Pains started about 1 hour after i had pessery and it went very quick, there was no time for epidural.

Waters broke at 5 days over. Went to hospital they tested to see if it was the waters (they put what something that was like a cotton bud in the waters and it turned blue) and was induced as I had no contractions. Can't remember what stage I had the epidural but had it about 6 hours from water breaking. Kai was back to back and felt all the pain in my back as they decreased the epidural as I had no feeling at all to push when I got to 10cm.

Lydia was 18 days overdue.

I went into be induced at 14 days overdue. They put some cervical gel (2mg) on me, it set off contractions but no dilating. And then the contractions died away.
So the next day they gave me another dose (1mg), same thing happened.
So they gave me another dose (1mg) the next day, again same thing happened.

The day after that they tried one final time (1mg...that made a total of 5mg altogether, and they said that usually they don't give more than 4mg but they wanted just to give it one last ditch attempt), and then when they checked me later in the day they found that I had dilated just the TEEEENIEST TINIEST bit, just enough for them to be able to break my waters.
So they broke my waters at around 7pm and put me on the drip.

At first I thought I'd be okay with just gas and air, but it soon became apparent that that wasn't working. So I asked for an epidural, but the anaesthatist was busy dealing with somebody who was having a caesarian, so I had to wait 2 hours from when I asked for it before I got my epidural!!
In the meantime they gave me pethidine which didn't do a damn thing to ease the pain, it just made me feel so so sick and throw up everywhere multiple times.

Anyway, after the epidural I didn't feel a thing (apart from when it started to wear off, and I asked for top ups then, so that was ok)...Lydia was born 8.35am the next day.

I tore horribly, but that's another story lol.

Reece was born 3 weeks early. I was in and out of hospital for monitoring every other day for 2 weeks before as I had high blood presure. Then they only gave me a few hours notice to go home and get packed. I was cacking myself!!

Was rubbed with the jelly stuff that starts you off at 7pm, my waters broke at 11pm then I had Reece at 8.14am. They only let me phone my OH at 5.30am! I was in so much pain with contractions from about 1am and was so shocked to learn that I wasn't in labour which made me sooooo scared about what was to come!

I cant remember the actual labour though as I was high on morphine. Cant even remember having Reece Will defo make myself stay off the drugs next time!

my eldest was 2 weeks late and i just woke up at 4am with no pain or anything but went to the loo and had a show and it gradually progressed from there,

harry was 2 weeks early and i carried chloe on my hip and ran across the road,went shopping and was getting niggly and by the next morning id had him

with lily i was induced at 39 weeks due to spd and was given a pessary,these were by far the worse contractions i wasnt even given anysigns just full blown labour

hi girls....

Haylea was 15 days overdue....she really did not want to come out. Was in hospital for 3 weeks before I gave birth and they started me with the pessaries 13 days overdue.... finally at 15 days over gave me an internal and I was 6cm dilated so over I went to delivery....I had all they had to offer....but I am a bit of a wuss when it comes to pain.
Hoping to go into labour naturally with this one but we'll see.
Here's hoping you get your baby soon hunnie....
