Hope someone can offer some advice...

My little man is 11 days today and keeps on having crying bursts for no reason, cramping his legs up to his tummy and really looks in pain... its really upsetting to watch :-( xxxx

yeah it does sound like colic, try something like infacol or colief (colief worked wonders for us). Try lying him over your lap on his tummy, the pressure gives a little relief. I also invested in the tommee tippee anti-colic bottles which have a vent system through the middle and found them invaluable!

It certainly does sound like colic. We originally used Infacol for DS then changed to Colief which is expensive but also available in prescription if you ask your GP

It sounds like classic colic, I would try infacol first as it is easier to give and works for many, you should be able to get both infacol and colief on prescription, baby massage and chiropody is supposed to work well too

Def sounds like colic hon and the advice from the others is spot on x x x

aww hun  sounds just like colic, its really upsetting to see your baby in pain isnt it. :(

Try and make sure hes not sucking in air when feeding, spend lots of time trying to get those burps up, but infacol helps. Like everyone else says Colief is much much more effective but really pricey. My GP wont prescribe it but others on here have said that they will. Definately take him to the doctor first

Yes sounds like colic, is he bottlefed? if so, and colief or infacol doesnt work, try changing his milk to aptamil comfort, it made my little man like a different baby, so happy and content. We also used tommee tippee anti colic plus bottles (with a vent inside) and they helped, a lot of people also swear by dr browns bottles. I hope you find something that works for him, it is so upsetting and exhausting xxx

Oh i forgot to say, i also got colief on prescription, so its definately worth a visit to the docs x

it might not be colic if it is just a one off. if it happens everyday then prob colic.

if not it could be wind or maybe hes over eaten?

have you tried winding again and again. maybe carry him around over your shoulder?

good luck hope it isnt colic x

And colief reduces lactose in milk. the lactose can cause pain due to difficult digestion in some babies. ifacol helps bring the trapped air up so helps you wind. x

^^^ we're using both at the minute. Bloomin expensive baby!!

Yeah thats what i was menat to add and explain but baby called!! both are for different things so you could use both :) x

I have a little tip for this! Im not a mom yet but an auntie of four and this worked everytime! When he pulls his legs up tight in pain gently stretch each leg out- alternate them both as though he is 'riding a bike'. Soothes them and helps with the colic. Obviously the cause needs to be sorted but this will help in the meantime. x

Definitely sounds like colic to me hun. I've never had any experience with colic but Amelia did have quite bad wind, I would try Infacol and see if you can get the Colief on prescription. I would take LO to docs just to make sure it isn't anything else though hun.

Yep sounds like colic. I've used colief and it was brilliant. My LO is now on Cow and Gate Comfort milk as recommended by HV. She a different baby now. Much happier and content. Oh and I use Dr Browns bottles too. x
