I just found out im having a bubby boy and wanted to find out what its like, im dead excited now i cant wait to do all fun stuff with him but just wanted ur views on what its like, also to those with more kids how does it differ from having a girl?

Oh Sharne, it's great having a little boy...I thoroughly recommend it. Have you thought of any names yet? We decided on Daniel Kai very early on...he probably would have been a Jasmine if he had been a little girlie :D

Its great, boys are alot more laid back as babies but harder work when toddlers because they are very energetic but also thats great fun because your constantly on your toes spending time with him, playing games. Also boys are very much mummies boys, always like a cuddle and a kiss :)

Hiya

Ive dragged an old thread out that I wrote when I had my scan ...says exactly how I felt at the time...

http://www.pregnancyforum.co.uk/forum/v ... ht=#448134

I certainly aint proud of how I felt ... but looking back now, what a fool I was.... I can honestly say I wouldnt change Fynn for the world... he's great!

Congratulations..... blue is best! :D

It's amazing having a son, I wanted a son as soon as I fell pregnant and was delighted when they said 'boy' at the scan....he is so chilled out, so contented and just a complete delight. You'll love being the mother of a son I tell you, it's just amazing!

I have 2 girls and a boy and its true boys are much more laid back. Hes also a lot tougher than the girls, he doesn't cry for an hour when he falls over
Hes very loving towards me and defiantly a mummies boy. I get plenty of hugs and kisses. The only thing is he won't let anyone else do anything for him.

I love having a boy. He's definitely NOT laidback though! He's full of energy & completely tires me out but I wouldn't change him for the world. He's a proper boy's boy, he loves playing in mud & picking up worms and trying to break things  ! Boys love their mummys too :D Austin will always come running to give me a kiss & cuddle even in the middle of playing :)

The only thing I find hard is dealing with OH's obsessive ideas that he can't even look at the colour pink, or touch a doll, and don't even suggest that he might like to do dance or gymnastics rather than football when he's older... I know he wouldn't be bothered if it was the other way round & we had a girl.

Congratulations on your blue bump!

oh hun i love having my little man, when i was pregnant with him i honestly never wanted a girl but could only imagine myself with a girl as girls in the family etc.
I never found out but when they said 'its a boy' i was overwhelmed with love for the little guy. :D He's 2.5 now and so loving towards me and hubby but also tons and tons of fun.
I dont have a girl but im a teacher and have helped to raise my niece, with that and looking at kids during mums and toddlers i would say that boys tend to be more boisterous etc. :D But that is a generalisation only.
My friends have said that their boys are more loving than their girls but i cant comment on that.

Im also looking forward to him being 18 etc and looking after his mum-my hubby and brother are both protective over their mums you see.

My boy is GREAT! He is so much fun, is always happy and is so energetic! He loves his mummy, and shows it with hugs and (his attempt at) kisses :D

It is the best thing in the world having a son, they are so loving (more than girls in my oppinion) and they always want to protect mum when they get bigger, me and my son have such a special friendship and alot of parents i have spoke too have said the same

I love having my boys. And it makes it so much better now that I'm having a girl, because i know they will look after her and protect her so much!!!

I only have boys so I can't really compare it but I love having them, there's never a dull moment with them around

I want a girl next though cos I think my boys would be really protective of her as they all grow up :)

When I first found out I was pregnant I just knew Jacob was a boy and at my 20 week scan when they confirmed he was a boy I was sooooo happy! I think I secretly wanted a boy anyway

Now that Jacob is here I couldn't be happier! He is so gorgeous and is already a mummy's boy which I love :D

Congratulations on your pregnancy :D

i have leah and was over the moon when i found out she was a she.
but i really want a boy now.. i cant stop thinking of it lol!!
i want a big lad who makes me proud and has girls queueing up at the door for him!
i love leah to bits obvisouly but i think girls are more of a worry when they get bigger

I think girls and boys are vastly different creatures but also have individualistic needs.

I have to say I am please to have two lil girls...not that I wouldn't have loved a lil boy just the same... its your child and it doesn't matter what sex he/she is you love them all the same...

However, Tia's friends who are boys at school make me never ever want to have a little boy ever :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I don't know how either the teachers or this one boys mother copes without chucking him out the window... :rotfl: :rotfl:

That said my friend in the UK has a boy and a girl... and while she says her little girl is far easier to deal with...when she came over with her kids in March, I found that her son was actually much politer than his sister, well behaved and very loving and considerate...although I think thats just his nature... :D He was quite a pleasure to be with actually.

I'm happy to have a boy, although it does play on my mind sometimes that once he's older he won't be as close to me as a daughter would. I love spending time with my mum, going out shopping and for coffee/lunch etc and I'd imagine it'll be very different having a son. Also I think when you have grandchildren (yes, I think that far ahead) you tend to be closer to them and be more involved when you're the mother's mother.

But I have plenty of time to have a girl as well still, I do love having a boy :)

I have two boys and I love having them, don't think I'd know what to do with a girl :D

I had a feeling I was having a boy when I was pregnant with Jamie and we were over the moon. This time round I kinda thought it would be nice to have a girl so we had one of each but was still really happy when we found out we were having another boy. I love having sons but would have loved having daughters equally.

My lil boy is so loving towards us, not like his sister at all. It's great being a mummy to him

Congratulations on your little boy :D

I love having a little boy. He is so loving and always comes over for kisses and cuddles :D

He is always on the move though and will only stay still for about 2mins  He is happy to play on his own but loves playing with other kids and people aswell :)

He loves other people aswell and smiles at strangers when they talk to them and is just a very happy boy but does have the odd tantrum

It's great being a mum to him and im so glad to be having another little boy aswell :D

Boys are fab my 12 year old is a complete Mummy's boy and really tries to take care of me and is a great help with Sam.
When I found out i was having another boy this time around I was thrilled I don't know how I would have felt if i would have been expecting a girl.
