:wall:

Summer won't eat onions, ice cream, cooked tomatoes but will eat raw ones and parsnips. Apart from that she's really good. I'm fussier than she is! I won't eat soft bananas, any offal (liver, kidneys), pork, lamb chops, cooked tomatoes, porridge, hot milk, hot chocolate, and so it goes on! Lol

 I know the feeling Helen!

You've reminded me, my eldest wouldn't eat warm tomatoes and he's nearly 20 and still won't

Meghan who's 2 wont eat, BREAD unless it's mine or daddy's butty! CRACKERS she'll just lick the butter off! MEAT she's not to much liking meat! CHOPPED FRESH TOMATO she'll only eat them if there whole or tinned!! ICE CREAM! CRISPS unless there out of our packet! EGGS! There are a few others but she loves cheese, yogurts, pasta, she will eat mash, and veg. MORGAN who is 4 will eat the stuff meg wont but he wont eat things like onions, or anything a bit spicy he's not keen on broc or sprouts but what kid is! LOGAN well he's 10 months and eats everything!! If the kids don't eat there food it doesn't go to wast cos he eats his then there left overs:shock:

The only thing I've found that niamh won't take is banana flavoured yogurt. Don't blame her really

Alex can be fussy sometimes, he won't eat cooked tomatoes, but then neither will I!
Broccoli, cabbage etc, but then I don't think that stuff tastes nice.

He surprises me all the time with things he'll eat. He wolfed down a spicy chilli and rice I made the other day.

I think I'm always amazed cause i was an awful eater when I was little. Raw carrots and chips was all I ate for about 2 years! Totally out it down to being spoilt only child syndrom. If I saw something and didn't like it, my mum would instantly take it away. She never cooked either, just ovened frozen stuff.

I've caught her letting Alex spit out food in a tissue if he tries something and doesnt like it, which I find incredibly rude in public and just ridiclous. He knows the rules with me are that he has to try something once, and then if he doesn't like it fine, but at least he'd tried.

BTW, seeing as its his birthday today we just had pizza for brekkie!!!

Mmmh pizza for breakfast! Great idea!!!! I know how you feel about mums letting them spit food out number2 as my mum does the same though i have sane rule as you!!!! Summer likes loadsa stuff you'd think kids'd hate like broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, peas-raw and cooked etc. Just remembered she hates jelly too!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Alex!!!! Yay

thats so interesting what you said about your 2 year old not eating stuff but will if its your or her daddy's. Ive been reading about food neophobia in work. In adults it can be a disorder, but its normal for children to go through a phase of it when they're 2. Its an inbuilt mechanism to stop you trying to eat stuff thats not food/poisonous. they reckon it comes at 2 because the child becomes more indepentant so protects them from eating bad berries etc... Because the root of the fear is eating something dngerous/poisonous (although its subconscious) children will often try new things if their care giver is eating them, because they get the message that its safe! Fascinating. The article said that once they try a food 10-15 times they will add it to their list of 'safe' foods. And recommends the best way is to offer something off parents plate, but if you think 15 times before they'll take it off their own plate....what a diet for the parents!!!

Thanks Tiny, that is interesting she does it with toast which she hates but if i have a piece she'll pester me for some! She'll do it with a few foods, but thanks again i'll look it up myself now cos i'm intrigued:)

yeah its really interesting isnt it, cos otherwise its like WTF?! you didnt like it and now you wanna nick mine!! A lot of the stuff on google is about adults with the condition cos they never moved past the 'phase'. Its not really a disorder in a 2 year old unless its to the point where they are malnourished because of it. I thought it was so interesting about hte try it 15 times thing cos my OH used to be such a fussy eater before he moved in with me, because his mum would offer something once and if he refused it she'd never offer it again, as a result there was a huge list of foods he 'didnt like' when actually had no memory of trying them. She had a spaz atack at me cos I made us soup. "HE DOESNT LIKE SOUP!!!!" as if Id given him something he's allergic to. He helped himself to 3 bowls of the stuff so Im pretty sure he liked it!

She was going on at me the other day saying she hopes our baby doesnt take after him cos he was a terrible eater as a child. I had to bite my lip cos I really wanted to tell her its not genetic its cos you're the fussiest panicer Ive ever known and you tried to pinch his nose to force feed him. Way to make a child enjoy eating!

Riley is not a huge fan of fish, he dislikes cheese, cheesy pasta, etc, but will eat cheesy crisps??

Also hates bananas, and could happily live without tatties

Doesn't like iced lollies or ice cream, and prefers bread to toast, and the less butter the better

Dec is not overly fussy but he isnt a hugh fan of meat, he will eat ham by the ton but any other meat is a struggle, he will eat small amounts buts thats it.

my little girl dosnt eat at all. most days it can be stuff like toats of which she has 2 bites dry paste or boiled rice and only eva has a couple of spoons of that she wouldnt thanks you for chocolate crisps or cakes so i know its not cos she wants to eat junk. She crys for milk all day long and would still live on bottles if i let her she only has her pint a day now but it still hasnt made her eat anymore. Shes 2 soon but no body seems to botherd about it seem my doctor and health visiter and as her weight is ok they dont seem to care. Didnt have this at all with my little boy he eat for england

It's more a case of what WILL William eat, he's so fussy it's a joke. He'll eat starchy foods like potato, pasta, dumplings, bread etc and he'll eat just meat, fish and cheese otherwise. He loves marmite luckily which has lots of good stuff in it. He hates fruit and vegetables, loved them as a baby - i'd make homemade weaning foods from organic veg and he was really enthusiastic, I honestly couldn't tell you where it all went wrong. I try not to worry about it too much but it does do my head in a bit. I like to make one-pot homemade dinners like stew, chilli, shepherds pie, etc but it's a struggle to get him to eat most of what we eat.

Sophie is a different matter altogether, she'll eat anything. I'm just hoping that she stays like this.

Lily wont eat Bannana,s

Ethan doesnt eat any fruit or veg other then grapes :( no matter what , so he as smoothies and homemade soups to get his 5 a day in

AJ is a fussy eater so, whatever he eats is a blessing.

Today he ate cake! (My homemade cupcake) He's always turned away from cake (I know not the best choice of foods).
He dislikes, cold meats, pasta, broccoli, cabbage, cheese.

Bananas
Chicken is touch and go with my eldest too
Won't have milk if that counts
Cereal shes a funny one on also

Jack
Eggs in any way shape or form
Tops off brocolli but will eat stalks
Mashed poatato.
He is pretty fussy and rarely finishes a meal TBH, but is getting better at trying things again.

Emily is getting more fussy, she won't eat any one pan food, like Stew, savoury mince, bolagnese (sp?)
