we will just stick with the whole nana and granda thing, I only have one nana left so LO will call her Nana Lily...thats what i call her but it will still distingish between grandparent and great grandparent!

This is something my mum raised only last night! My OH and i decided ages ago, that providing its ok with them, our mum's and nan's will be nanny, although when we talk to them about them, we'll make it clear by using their names too, so my mum will be nanny Sara if we say we're going to see her.

However, my mum last night questioned what my daughter will be calling my stepdad, and you know, we'd never even thought of it! My dad isn't around much, he's shown very little interest, so whilst we have to call him grandad, i don't really think of him as one. My OH's dad died last year, and i know he wants to tell hr all about him so he'll be known as grandad. My stepdad's kids have their own children and they always call my mum nanny even though they aren't related, so i just assumed that my stepdad was going to be our little girl's grandad too. My OH seems happy with this, and my mum says my stepdad will be honoured and that provided we were happy, he wouldn't be offended by it if we didn't. But i think its the right thing to do, aside from the fact that he practically brought me up, i think she'll get confused if her cousins call them nanny and grandad but she's supposed to say nanny and Pete.

We've not really had this discussion yet - im kinda dreading to to be honest - My folks are Granny and Bampa to my brothers kids (my neice couldnt say GRANDPA) - no idea what OH's folks will want as this will be their first g-child.

My cousins called their grandparent granny & grandpa mac - so thats a possibilty.

My gran (mum's mum) was originally to be GG (great granny ) to my brothers kids - but my father referred to her as Old Granny at christmas - and my 3year old neice has decided this is MUCH better - so she is now Ol' Granny to everyone. Fairly saves on the confusion, and she actually quite likes it. lol

My kids call my grandma 'grandma cat' although the cat has long since passed it was anane that my eldest had for her that stuck,they call my grandad 'grandad max' cos his dog was called max-again passed a long time ago but stuck and they call my Nanna 'old nanna' I used to call my mums Nanna that so it kinda got passed down.
My cousins call their grandad 'babbit'!???

I need to really think about this as baby will have 3 grandads (due to my step dad) 3 nannys (due to my step mum) 2 grandmas (both known nan to my and OH and 1 known by 1st name as step nan) 2 g grandads (known as grandad to me and OH and 1 step grandad) and a g g grandma!!! Arghhh! Unfortunately all the steps are on my side too lol!

My mum wants to be 'nanna seaside' and my dad wants to be 'grumpy'!! My grandma said there's no way she's going to be called great-grandma so suggested 'Gee-ma' which is what my cousins call her. my grandad will just be grandad-hen which is what I call him.

My Grans known as GG and my Mum and dad are Nanny and Grandad. My sister is her name but if i want to wind her up it's Auntie
