Hi Ladies,

I don't know whether it is me just being a little nieve simply because i'm going to be a new mummy in just over 10 weeks!!! OMG!!

But I was just wondering if any of you lovely ladies can tell me what to expect, e.g

When do MW appointments get closer together?
When do you start having people look at your bits? (scared of this!)
What Braxton Hicks feels like?
When can BH start?
When should i start packing my hossie bag (baring in mind this is all i have left to do!)

And anything else you wonderful ladies can prepare me for?

xx

I can only give you my personal experiance's so here goes

1. Mine stayed every week from week 38
2. This didn't actually happen until I was in labour, but if you need a sweep it will happen after 40 weeks, I was due for a sweep at 40 +5 which would have involved bits, I'm not gonna lie an internal whilst in between contractions hurts but it needs to be done and compared to the actual contractions you won't mind ( sorry for the honest truth of mine)
3. Mine felt like the top of my bump went really hard and I felt out of breath.
4. Mine started at week 33/34, sorry can't be more exact
5. I had mine packed from week 32 and in the car from week 37, not that that mattered they shipped me in by hospital leaving hubby to drive in lol......

No one can prepare you for it, what I will say is that once you are doing it you forget everything else even your OH :), mine was so good, he did all the rushing around making sure I drank loads, mopping my back.

I would also say as well if you can stay active during your labour it will help you but most of all and my best piece of advice I can give trust your body it will tell you what you need, if a midwife suggests something you can say no if you don't feel up to it :)

Ok I'm done lol gotta go feed :)

Gotta admit... Feel a little lost in Tri 3! x

As this is baby no 3, my mw appointments are every 2 weeks.
Internals are not routinely done untill labour, unless your having a sweep.

Bh feel like having a belt around u that keeps getting tighter, and your bump will go hard, sometimes they can be painful so don,t panic. Mine started at 14 weeks, but it,s normal not to have any at all, so again don,t worry if you dont get any.

I packed my bag at 35 weeks, i,ve still got to pack my own stuff like pj,s, hair brush etc, which i,ll pack at the last min. I,ve got a list on my draws so I don,t forget anything in the heat of the moment, or for oh to grab if i,m in to much pain.

Good thread :)
I've been getting BH since about 16wks!
Was wandering about packing my hospital bag! i've started buying bits ready to go in it, and have bought a 'pre packed' bag off ebay with all bits like shampoo, shower gel, breast pads etc in so i don't have to get it all seperate (Lazy i know!)

Will keep stalking this thread :P x

I love bh! Bump goes really hard and tight then releases, a bit like having bp done around arm (I love that too).
I tend to pack my bag at around 35 weeks but I've never gone early so I know I have plenty of time.
I've had bh from 18 weeks this time but with first baby i didn't get them until 30 weeks at least x

Oh and no one has ever looked at my undercarriage until I arrived at hospital in labour x

same noone has checked my bits i started getting bh at about 34 weeks and i only get them in my lower baack. And last week my boobs started leeking lol x

I've been getting much stronger and noticeable BH's in the last few days, generally in the evening - bump goes really hard and I think baby doesn't like it much because he/she starts to push in the opposite direction. Weird, but kind of cool. I only started to pack my bag last week at 37 weeks, but it might not be a bad idea to start a tad sooner. As for the rest... well, I'll tell ya when I come out the other side of labour  :) xxx
