Have just been laying in bed going through the list of things that gave me such a bad night last night and wondered if its just me that is struggling with so many things!

So here is my list, some pregnancy related some not, if anyone has any ideas on how to solve my sleep problems I would very much appreciate them. I am used to sleeping really well and getting up early (6am) feeling refreshed and ready to tackle to day. Since being pregnant I struggle to get up and cant normally get going till at least 10am.

Pregnancy related

Needing to pee
Having such a dry mouth that I gag and choke
Pulling pains when I turn over
Restless legs
Morning sickness (yes this starts at 2am most days)
Back ache
Too hot
Too cold
Racing mind
Just generally cant get comfortable

Non pregnancy related (but appear worse since I've been pregnant)

OH snoring
OH taking up all the bed
Next doors TV on loud at stupid o clock
Dogs needing to go out
Dogs needing to come in
OH getting up at early hours to go to work, normally just as I have dropped off into a nice deep sleep.

I think that is about it. The one that really gets me is the dry mouth! So dry I wake up gagging coughing and spluttering unable to talk as my mouth is so dry and stuck together. I always have a drink by my bed but it doesn't really make all that much difference.

What do you all do to help you sleep at night?

I struggle to get comfortable, then I lie awake and think, and think, and think and think.

I'm one of life's worriers, and in worrying overdrive!

Well! Here's a story, my darling oh never goes out but last night he went to a friends leaving do and missed his train so I had to get up at 1 and got back at half two for him to get straight into bed and start snoring which kept me awake till gone 3!

Plus had to go into work this morning...Argh tired.com!

Apart from that it's the need to pee I'm good!xxx

Peeing non stop kept me a wake but for a week now I have slept really well so it does get better :) just hope it stays that way xxx

Hiya,

For the last couple of weeks i have been waking up all through the night to pee which is definatley a pregnancy thing as ive never done this before! The problem i have is when i had relieved myself and got back into bed i cant get back to sleep and face all the same problems as you im too hot,too cole, wrong sleeping position etc.
Then i lie awake worrying and end up logging on here lol!
The only thing that seems to get me to sleep is something my nan told me to do years ago which is imagine you have won the lottery and think of all the things you would buy and do it works alot better then couting sheep! good luck xxx

Well got me, I have been getting this gross mucas at the back of my throat. It makes me gag A LOT. And it doesn't always happen at night either, so horrible :( Apparently its normal in pregnancy though.

you are not alone

I have only started peeing through the night since being pregnant. Used to be a cracking sleeper and its been great while hubby was at home but he went back to work last monday and of all things a niteshoft so last mon/tues was horrendous hardly slept plus needing to pee then the not able to get comfy once back in bed pulling niggles when trying to get comfy then the thoughts of have I harmed minion by sleeping wrong moving wrong eating/drinking the wrong thing

so hubby is nites al this weekend so the same thing happened last night talk about knackered so am having a lazy few days napping when i can xx

The peeing is frustrating.

To help me "stay asleep" I keep my eyes closed ... then get back into bed and generally fall asleep straight away. If I don't I use a breathing technique to put me back to sleep.

But I'm up 4-5 times per night, sometimes more, its infuriating and I feel like I wake up more tired every day that passes

If the Olympic sport of peeing existed I would be in the running for a gold! Problem is I'm getting the dry mouth thing and although I'm only drinking enough to 'wet my whistle' its obviously a vicious circle and doesn't really help the peeing!!! I counted 12 wee's last night - that's ridiculous!!!

I used to get up to pee even before I was pregnant but it's definitely gone up from 1 trip at 5am to 2 or 3 now. I can't make it through my pilates class without a trip to the loo either - I think everyone's going to work out I'm pregnant just from that!

Definitely up earlier too - no weekend lie ins now - up at 7 otherwise so uncomfortable with wind. Much worse in the mornings usually .

I get up several times a night to pee too, it's almost impossible for me to get back to sleep. I always find myself being so uncomfy :( and it doesn't get any easier when you've popped either lol! :L x

Definitely getting up for the toilet and my boobs hurt so bad I can't lie on my side anymore, so uncomfy! x

i really miss sleeping!
i used to be an amazing sleeper but now i go to bed exhausted, struggle to fall asleep due to over thinking, sore boobs, too hot, too cold, restless legs! i suppose im lucky not to pee through the night though :)
but i only get 6 hours at the most then wake up and im wide awake :/ i cant get back to sleep and have to get up then and spend the rest of the day tired til nap time :(
arrgghh cant imagine when we'll next get a good night sleep!
sweet dreams for tonight though ladies :)

xxx

Pulling pains when I turn over, its so uncomfy XXx
