Hi ladies, just looking for some advice from anyone nearer there due date or have had babies already. I am nearly 31 weeks, and wearing a size 16 clothes. Iv put on about a stone in weight so far in pregnancy. I was just wondering what size of nightie should I buy for labour? And what size of jammies should I buy for after the birth for the ward? I'm just unsure of how much bigger I'm going to get.

Hey

I wear a size 16/18 and I have bought a 20 in PJ's

I am hoping to have a water birth so I have strappy top to wear in the pool.

However I have been told that most women get to the point during labour where they just don't care and strip off :) Yay for naked we can do that too lol....

but for PJ's after I have a 20 only because I figure I will need the trousers to be slightly loose.

xxxx

I went to primark and got a coupe f cheap nighties. I bought their extra large ones (think they say they're a 20-22).

They were just the right size for me in labour and afterwards and I'm a size 16. I'm actually still wearing them now as they have buttons down the front that are good for breast feeding

I didn't have pjs for hospital just a couple of the primark nighties and I treated myself to a nightie and dressing gown set from mothercare

I stayed away from pjs as if you need a c section you won't want a waistband sitting on your scar

And another piece of advice- get dark coloured nighties as you will bleed a lot and pale pjs and blood aren't a good combo!!

I also bought a pack of large cheap black knickers from primark as they hold the maternity pads in well!!

I'm a size 8-10 - what size pj's will I need? 12 or 14?

ive bought a mixture of stuff 1 size and 2 sizes up, but mostly 2 size up and all really cheap stuff that I can just throw away if necessary

Thanks ladies, I had a look in tesco and they had some nice jammie bottoms and tops to mix and match, so will prob go for them. Might take an extra nightie for after labour too incase I don't want jammies near me. At this rate I'm going to need a suitcase x

I am usually a 10 and I have bought everything in 12-14. Big pants and big nighties! x x

I already love my big pants....................Hubby doesn;t love them so much haha :)

xxx

I love big pants too! The ones I've bought are even bigger, mwahaha! Hubby hates my pants, I've never been a thong girl, but since being pregnant, I'm even more a comfy pant kinda girl than I was before! It's not sexy, but do I care? Noooo! Ill start making an effort again once baby is here, until then, its bridget jones pants all the way! xx

I love big pants too... I was actually having a conversation about pants what ones are good etc with my gran... Taking underwear advice from my 79 year old gran... Never thought I'd be having that conversation!!

My husband got his hopes up earlier when I mentioned I wanted him to take me underwear shopping - should of seen his crestfallen face when I used the words "Primark" and "maternity" in the same sentence!
