What is this pain?

So i am combi feeding and everything is going really well. I have no pain when Lexi is on the boob or when i express. I do one or the other every three hours as advised by midwife.

However, around the time i am due to feed I get this 5-10 second burning sensation right in my nipples. It comes to both at the same time and makes me wince. Is that normal? Is it just natures way of saying its time they're full or is it the start of mastitis?

Had it for 4 days now, Lexi is ten days old Xx

Id think it was just because theyre full, in my experience mastitis just hits you and knocks you on your feet xx

Probably your body telling you they are full. I had mastitis and i def knew about it. It came from no where keep going

Burning is associated with thrush on the nipple. Check your baby's mouth for white patches. Does your nipple areola look like it has a pearly sheen? Are they itchy?
It could be mastitis, but that is usually a red triangular section of breast, usually accompanied with flu like symptoms, and raised temperature.
